Old style southern charm
Second stay. This hotel is very well situated to downtown attractions, comfortable, high end amenities and pleasant staff. It is old so make sure you ask for a room on a higher floor and not on the corner (noisy).
Traveler's tip on dining
Try out High Cotton for Sunday brunch or lunch.

This was not like the chain hotels
Our stay at the Andrew Pinkney was very nice. We checked in in one building and stayed across the street in another building. Since it was not too big, the kids would take the stairs to get to the different floors - I stayed with the elevator. The rooftop breakfast was delightful and the staff was very nice and accomodating. I would stay there again.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The market place was great. Everything was within walking distance. I felt safe walking at night with my children
