A wonderful stay

The hotel was very clean and "new" feeling. Close enough to walk to most tourist attractions, close to the metro station. We didn’t eat in the restaurant at the hotel but it looked wonderful (maybe not suited for kids re: menu choices, but room service had a good menu more suitable for children) The pool was very clean, and nice to sit at. It may seem too far from night life (La Rambla...15 minute walk)if that is what you are looking for. The hotel arranged for a taxi to get us to the airport, which is only about 10 mins. away) I would definitely recommend it.

We took the metro to get around, fairly easy to find what you are looking for. Seemed safe and clean enough. Definitely see Sagrada Familia!

A very good location.

Acevi Villarroel was perfect for our needs. It was quiet and had the amenities we needed. It was clean and decorated with style. The ambience was very pleasant and made us very comfortable. It is located on the edge of a part of the district where there can be a lot of noisey activity and so noise and sleeping soundly were not issues. The staff worked hard to understand our questions and always provided thorough explanations for whatever it was we needed. The hotel was also within a easy walk to other exciting parts of the area and close to bus stops. In a nutshell, we were very pleased with the hotel, it’s staff and the location and we would definitely return there for business or pleasure.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Barcelona is a big city with a lot to do. If your stay is only two or three days, I suggest on your first day there that you take the city tour bus. Along the way note things you would like to return to the following day and then use the public bus system to get where you want to go. On the tour, pay close attention to stops for your site seeing the following day. It will help alleviate some uncertainty.

High quality, but a little walk from mass trans

This hotel had very clean, nice rooms. We loved everything about the rooms themselves, the only thing is that it is at least 10 minutes to walk to the nearest metro line, which isn’t terrible, but it’s not exactly close. Also, close to the hotel are only a couple restaurants/shops, but if you stay closer to the main areas, everything is very close. It wasn’t a problem really, but you are a bit removed from the "action". On a plus side, because it’s not particularly close to any one metro line, you are pretty much right inbetween two of the main lines (Red and Blue), which take you to most of the sites in Barcelona.
