Great location
The hotel is in easy walking distance to most sites, St. Peters , Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Coliseum. One block across the Tiber River are many restaurants in the colorful Trastevere area. The girls at the front desk are wonderful and cant be more helpful. My only complaint was the service in the hotel restaurant. We went up on our last night at about 7pm and was told it was not open yet. We asked if we could get a glass of wine and would probably want to eat when they opened, we were moved around the corner and given our wine and waited for them to let us know when they were ready to start serving but they never came back. I finally went to them to ask if they were open yet and was told yes we could move to that section. We just got the feeling they would rather we not bother them. On the plus side the food was good.

"Would stay there again"
The Fortyseven Hotel in Rome was a small hotel that was a convenient walking distance to most of the sites that you would want to see. The staff was courteous and very helpful. The restaurant on the roof is a must not only for the food, but the view. My only complaint was the flag pole outside our room that was a little noisy when the wind was blowing. Fortunately, they took it down the night of a cold front

Best place to stay in Rome
Location was fantastic. Able to walk to everything.Staff exceeding helpful with directions and transportation (private car from airport) Room was always very clean and comfortable. Restaurant was wonderful with good food. would return to 47 in a heart beat. Thanks for the best and memorable vacation. Thank you Expedia for this service.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Take a guided tour of Colosseum and Vatican. It is well worth it and more informative then just wondering around looking at things and not knowing meaning.

Great location
Overall we had a great stay at Fortyseven. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning after an overnight flight and were glad they could get us into our room well before the official check-in time. Our room was clean and spacious. The air conditioning worked well and kept the room comfortable despite the high 90s temperatures we had every day. The free buffet breakfast was exceptional. They had a wide variety of good food and drinks and would make you a cappuccino if you liked. The hotel was only about a 10 minute walk from the Colusseum and Palatine museum. It was also just across the river from Trastevere which had some great dining options.

Friendly Service, Great Location
It couldnt have been a nicer stay. Huge, clean room - A/C, flat screen T.V., big clean bathroom. Nice and helpful staff - fluent in English (which was great since we didnt know any Italian). The restaurant on the roof was very good - good food and a ridiculously nice view. The location was great, too...minutes from the Colosseum, Palatine, all kinds of historical stuff and within walking distance of trastavere and lots of shopping. It was a great stay in a beautiful city.

Excellent choice for a Roman holiday
We searched for quite some time for the right hotel (hard to find a place that is modern/updated... seems many of the famous hotels are resting on their laurels and relying on their locations). We werent disappointed with Fortyseven. This place was an excellent find. Well priced and the location was wonderful for walking to Trastevere and many of Romes famous sights. Breakfast is good too although the service was slow and not with a smile. But the reception personnel were absolutely lovely and very helpful when making reservations etc.

Great hotel, great service
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel 47. The location was good (by the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, etc.) What impressed us most was the helpfulness of the staff. After getting stuck in Rome for an extra day without a room, the hotel staff made calls and let us use the internet to find a room elsewhere since Hotel 47 was fully booked. The hotels restaurant is solid as well (though as a food snob it didnt blow me away).
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
If you are at all interested in a hop-on-hop-off tour of Rome, there are a few bus stops located very close to the Hotel. You can also walk to Trastavere for dinner from here.

Awesome!
My husband and I were extremely satisfied with our stay at Hotel Fortyseven. It was very close to all the attractions but still far enough to be able to get a good nights sleep. We walked to Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps and the Colloseum. Trastevere is an awesome area for restaurants and bars and its walking distance from the hotel, right across the bridge. When I read reviews of other hotels in Rome, they all talked about how small the rooms were and complained about mold. Not this hotel. Our room was clean, new and spacious, with a very tasteful minimalist decor. The hotel management was very helpful and friendly. I would stay there over and over again. If I go back to Rome, I definitely know where I am staying.

Fortyseven Hotel in Rome
Fantastic stay at the FortySeven Hotel in Rome. Great rooftop bar, beautiful room, helpful staff, good breakfast buffet. Just a great overall experience. Oh, but the rooftop bar closes promptly at midnight and it would have been nice to have a late night drink.

Extremely impressed
My wife and I went on our honeymoon to Rome March 1-9. It is 5 star service with in a 4 star setting. The staff spoke perfect english and were very friendly and accomodating. The rooms and bathrooms are smaller, but that is to be expected in Europe. We had a terrace off via Petrocelli. It was beautiful. Each terrace had a small lemon tree where you could pick fresh lemons. It was in a residential district, but the circus maximus was right around the corner from the hotel. Also, The Roman Forum and Collesium were about an 8 minute walk away. Best of all they have a roof top restaurant that I believe is called the Circus Bar. It is on the top of the hotel (6th floor). It is a rooftop terrace restaurant. My wife and I ate there twice and both times our table overlooked the Tiber River. It was very romantic. The prices are high, but that is to be expected when eating at an upscale restaurant. It will probably run about 90 euros for 2 if you eat the filet. The service was amazing. You will find that when you eat out the service will be terrible in Rome. This restaurant had western style service that you would expect in the US. If we come to Rome again we will be staying at Hotel 47

Great Service, Location & Deal
My husband and I stayed at the Fortyseven Hotel the end of May. We decided on this hotel due to the great reviews on Expedia and TripAdvisor. The hotel did not disappoint us. The service from the hotel staff was excellent and so was the location. We were able to walk to all of the local attractions within 5 to 20 minutes (except for the Vatican). I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

A great end to our honeymoon!
We stayed at this hotel as our last stop in an 11 day Honeymoon trip. They were amazingly courteous and helped us obtain a private tour guide within the hour of our arrival. We were so grateful with their actions that went above and beyond our expectations. Upon our arrival, they had placed a bottle of chilled champagne and a note from the manager with congrations and well wishes on our honeymoon! Out of the 5 hotels that we stayed in, they were one of the 2 hotels that made the ffort to make us feel special during this time, which meant the world to us! They made us reservations at amazing restaraunts and always answered our questions with a smile. A great location in "old" Rome, walking distance to everything and a quick cab ride to the Vatican/Spanish Steps area. We wish we had more time and would definately stay here again! You will not be disappointed!
Traveler's tip on dining
We dined at PierLuigi, and loved it, a great atmosphere and the food was delicious! One of the best meals we had! A wine expert came to the table and recommended one of the best bottles of wine we had ever had, and the servers were great at offering suggestions according to your tastes. A great place to eat! On our second night, we dined at Pialoggio, it was very gourmet, with small dishes, but outrageous dishes!

Very impressed, would recommend without hesitation.
The hotel was very conveniently located to the Trastavere and all other tourist attractions. It was quiet and the staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful and generous. The breakfast was great and the cappucino excellent! Would recommend to anyone who likes a quiet space amongst the bustle of Roma, where you can regroup in comfort before the next days touring.

Largest Hotel Room in Rome
This hotel was a great choice. While you are at a walking distance from main attractions, you are not in a congested area, where noice can be a problem. Our deluxe room was the biggest I ever had in a hotel in Italy with a great view of the Vesta Temple. Breakfast was great and the service even better. After a couple of dissapointments dinning out, we decided to try the restaurant at the hotel and this was the rigth choice. All the staff at the hotel is friendly and very professional.

Modern contemporary hotel with a great location - would stay here again without a doubt!
The positives included the nice modern comtemporary feel which is a nice change with so much older buildings/ruins around. Great romantic lights in the rooms trey ceiling adds to the romanticism. Also, it was super having motorized blinds that kept the room dark when we slept in. The full, warm breakfast included in the rate was well worth it. On the other hand, there were a few negatives. (1) The concierges were like police which is good for safety but annoying especially if you are hanging with friends at the hotel. I did not appreciate my friend needing to show her passport and and for them to make a copy of it.(2) There was mildew in the tile grout in our rooms bathroom and fitness center steam room. Overall we give it a good rating of 8 with 10 being the best. Now that we know the system, we would still stay here again. We hope this helps you make an informed decision. Good luck and enjoy.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
*Dont have the hotel call you a cab as the cab rate jumps up 5 euro. *There is a 10 euro fee to use the internet. We thought it was included in the free "business center amenities." *There was noise from the street and other rooms, so request a room on higher floors. *Wear comfortable shoes as the hotel is walking distance from so many great locations, like untain Trevi (our favorite area), the Colosseum, and Plaza Venezia. Overall the hotel and Expedia helped make our vacation one of the best.

Nice hotel.
The hotel was very nice and conveniently located to most attractions. About 15 min to Piazza Navona. Some ppl prefer that location. We walked everywhere. Its about 45 min to Vatican, which is the farthest destination point. The bus stop is right in front. Great area 5 min away full of restaurants. Keep in mind, standard rooms are quite small with small bathrooms. We got upgraded to deluxe. That room is nice and comfortable. No bathtubs but nice large showers. Most rooms face the street and you can hear the cars through the windows. But not bad. Breakfast is good enough. Ask for cappuccinos. The same every day. The hotel has a nice outside courtyard for bkfst when weather permits. The rooms on 5th floor have balconies but are smaller. The concierge and front desk is very helpful and we got some great recs!
Traveler's tip on dining
Da Francesco is the best pizza place and antipasti, dinner only for pizza, after 7. Try Hotel Raphael for great roof top views bar. Casual trattorias are the best. Dont waste $ on gourmet food. Galleria Borghese is a must. Have to book ahead! Walk around and get lost in the city. Go away from main streets and have a wonderful time!

Nice hotel
We enjoyed our stay and loved the breakfast! The hotel was clean and people were friendly. The location was toward one end of town- near the Colosium, but easy to walk everywhere. Our only complaint was the noise of the street and the thin walls between the rooms - we could hear our neighbors talking every night as well as their tv. Otherwise a great place and would recommend it!
Traveler's tip on dining
We really enjoyed a place called La Roma which was just around the corner from the hotel. Great food and nice to be close by after walking all day!

Outstanding hotel
Hotel was better than our expectations. Rooms were of good size and tasteful decor. The service was exceptional-- the front desk help and concierge were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. The gym was beautiful, well equipped and a nice break. Our family(2 adults and 2 teenagers) really enjoyed the breakfasts--delicious and had a wide selection. I would highly recommend this hotel. We liked the location in ancient Rome but it is quite a walk--30-40 minutes to the Spanish steps.
We and our two teenage children really liked the hotel accomodations, service and breakfasts.

I liked it a lot
The hotel was clean and neat and had a cool rooftop bar. There was only one computer in the lobby for internet access, and it was a bit expensive. Often someone else was using the 1 computer. Some of the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, some not so. The hotel is very conveniently located for the Ghetto, Trastevere, and Piazza Venezia. The hotel is on a main road, without any stores or restaurants in the near vicinity, so it was not a great place to take a stroll in the evening. All in all, I really like the hotel.

Romes best value hotel
Very good hotel, in the middle of everything. It is worth staying there. You can walk to many attractions, or simply take the bus outside the hotel to everywhere. Very modern, with excellent service. The best value hotel I ever styed in Rome

Cross the brigde and walk to eat at Trastevere, where most of the tipical restaurants are located
