Nice, typical Hampton Inn
As with other Hampton Inns weve stayed at, you get a room thats clean, attractive and comfortable. The mattresses are very comfy with lots of pillows and high-thread-count sheets. Nice, large flat-screen TV and the usual good channel selection. They have high-speed internet, but its not wireless - so bring your cables (we didnt). This hotel has a decent-sized indoor swimming pool and a jazuzzi. There is a small fitness room, but there is also a YMCA across the parking lot and Hotel guests can use it. The breakfast is typical of a Hampton Inn - lots of variety. This particular Hampton Inn is on a street where there are lots of businesses and restaurants. Not pretty but very convenient. Its nice and quiet, though, because its not right on the street - its back behind a couple of restaurants. There is no restaurant attached to the hotel. We had a couple of chain restaurants we could choose from that you can just walk to across the parking lot. Other restaurants are close by. Its a nice town. We were on the first night of a three-day motorcycle trip home from North Carolina. We took a lot of Route 219, which is a wonderful motorcycle road or just a nice road for people who want to see the countryside and not be on the Interstates. This town was a good stopping point along the route as its a bit larger and has more hotels.
Traveler's tip on dining
There were several chain restaurants that were within easy walking distance. We ate at Applebees. There was also a Subway and a Shoneys within the general parking lot area where the hotel is located. We also passed a lot of different restaurants - chains and otherwise along Route 219 as we approached the hotel. So there are lots of options.
