Great Location

The hotel location could not have been better. It is a short 10 minute walk from the train station, right in the heart of Helsinki, an easy walk to all the sights, and off the main street so there was no road noise at night.

Don’t miss the Soup Kitchen in the indoor market place by the harbor.

Loved My Stay

Best Feature: Quiet! I usually sleep with earplugs when I go to hotels. I did not hear a sound. Pros: delicious breakfast, great location near the Esplanade, very helpful staff Cons: internet was 15 euros a day

Take the Finnair bus to the Central Rail Station. The Rivoli is a 15-20 minute walk from there.

Great hotel find in Helsinki

This was my last stay on my Scandinavian trip and this was the best hotel. Service and stuff was very helpful and professional. My room was very comfortable with one of the best beds I ever slept in hotel anywhere. Well stocked breakfast buffet with fresh baked pastries in the hotel atrium was great start of the new day. Very convenient location to the most major tourist and shopping sites in the center of Helsinki. There is also good selection of restaurants near by and grocery store less than block away is a plus.

Use airport taxi service. It is reasonably priced and although you might share ride with other passengers it is reliable and convenient. I was actually solo passenger from the airport.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Day trip to Tallin, Estonia, a real plus to walk the old walled city. Was only a 1 1/2 hour ferry ride away and ferry just a few blocks from the Rivoli.

Helpful staff

The hotel staff were very helpful. We lost our camera and they went through special efforts to call places we had been to see if it was still there. Good location.

Great location

We enjoyed this hotel both before and after a weekend in St. Petersburg. The rooms are smallish, but the location, just south of the Esplanade and a couple blocks from the Kauppatori market, is great.

Very Impressive

The Rivoli Jardin is ideally situated in getting anywhere in Helsinki. Its location puts you near restaurants and sightseeing areas. Trams and busses are nearby and that’s really all ypu need in Helsinki. The service was impeccable and breakfast was very good in quantity and quality. The free coffee,fruit and pastry served daily was a delightful addition. The room was adequate and comfortable. The only drawback is the noise from the bar next door in all hours of the night. If you leave your windows close, it is very quiet. Since our room was a little warm for comfort, we had to leave the windows ajar. Other than that, we had a really great time.

Don’t rent a car. Take the Finnair bus to the central station and take a taxe to your hotel. Buy the tourist ticket for 1,2 or three days and you can ride all the local transport anywhere in the city. Since there was another family with us returning to the airport, we rented an airport taxi for 55 euors and we were picked up at our hotels. The other family stayed at another hotel nearby. The nice lady at Rivoli made the reservations for us.

Great stay in Helsinki

This hotel was very reasonably priced for it’s location. It’s only a few blocks from the water and the Tourist Information building. Very easy to get to local sites. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They got us tea and cookies when we came in every afternoon and assisted with dinner reservations.

They had discounts set up with 2 or 3 restaurants. We ate at the Bellevue. Wonderful Russian meal, and the discount helped the price.

A wonderful place to stay

My experience was quite memorable in Finland and the Rivoli Jardin was one of the reasons why. Pleasant staff, perfect location and comfortable rooms. I plan to stay there again when I return.

Nice, comfortable.

We stayed at the Rivoli Apartments, which are in a building separate from the hotel. Accommodations are not luxurious, but comfortable. The apartment had a main room with desk, twin beds, a wardrobe, two comfortable chairs, and the TV; the bath had a shower only (no tub), and the separate kitchen/eating area had good room and was quite well equipped compared to most apartment/hotels. The only thing we missed was a good knife. The beds are among the most comfortable we have found. Location is excellent, close to the Esplanade and the main business/shopping district and rail station. The harbor with its ferry terminals and tour boats is about 1/2 mile distant. If you are looking for an apartment for a short or medium term stay and close to the main part of Helsinki, this would be a good choice.

We loved it, but...

This is a great hotel in a great location. I recommend it and would stay there again. The only problem we had is that it was HOT when we were there, and they don’t leave the AC on at night. It is light late, and it gets light very early, so leaving the window open was not a great alternative. And it was VERY HOT even with the window open. We needed a fan, which the hotel did not have to give to us to use. They say that they don’t turn the AC off at night, that they turn it "down", but it felt like it was OFF and we roasted.

Location, location, location

Great spot for exploring Paris. Close to Tuileries station (about 100 yards), the Louvre and much more. Helpful desk staff was very helpful in finding "tourist" details for us (museum hours, etc) and the included breakfast area was manned by cheerful, friendly staff. Quick walk from the airport Roissy Bus stop at Opera Station. We walked to the hotel and beat folks who traveled from the bus stop to the hotel via taxi! Room was small, cozy, well appointed and offered of view of Jardin Tuileries to the left and Sacre Coeur to the right (when standing on one foot and leaning out the window).

Ok small hotel, placed near the center of Helsinki, Not a fancy Hotel - but cosy, nice and clean.

Try the nearby small restaurant - Gaston - Itallian inspirred - god wines, and nice food.

Awesome breakfast!!!!

This hotel was in an excellent location--easy walk to the train station, shopping esplanade, etc. The breakfast was wonderful--fill up on it, and it will last you until mid-afternoon!! The rooms were simple, but certainly sufficient. I would recommend this hotel for sure. The price was great, and the staff was very nice.

Nice value close to center of town

A clean nice small hotel with all you can have .Friendly helpfull staff. For those who do not need a 5 star hotel but still want things to work.

Exceptional Hotel/Exceptional Location

Exceptional service from the hotel staff. They really go out of your way to make you feel welcome and important. They were very willing to help find restaurants - and make whatever reservations we needed. The rooms were very nice and clean. The location is perfect to be able to explore of all downtown Helsinki.
