Great value and very nice place to stay
Overall nice place to stay. Went to see a comedy show in Bananas Comedy Club located in hotel so very convienent. Would recomend to others. And Bonefish Grill across the street.

Disturbing and disgusting items found under bed.
I went to see a show at Bananas Comedy Club in Poughkeepsie, NY, which is in the Mercury Grand Hotel, so I decided to book a hotel room through Expedia.com. After checking into the room I noticed that there was no remote control for the TV. As I looked around the room and under the bed to search for the remote I found some very disturbing items. Under the bed was a USED condom, a woman’s boot, a coffee pot filled with cigarette butts and brown water, a lighter, a water bottle, and other various items. The remote was wedged in between the mattress and the wall, there were red stains on the curtains, and the window would not lock. All of these were signs that pointed to fact that the room was not thoroughly cleaned and that my health and safety were at risk by staying in this room. After bringing it to the attention of the staff, I was able to switch rooms, where I discovered I was given towels with brown stains on them. The staff said that there was nothing they could do about the inconvenience of switching rooms, almost missing our comedy show, or the distrubing lack of cleanliness. This was a horrible experience and a shame considering the convenience of staying in the same building as the comedy club. I was extremely dissatisfied with my stay at the Mercury Grand Hotel and would not recommend staying there until they clean up their act.

Affordable option
Hotel is not one of the newer ones in the area, but this was made up with the price and free breakfast. Though I have had better buffett breakfasts in other hotels, this hotel’s offering was adequate. It was difficult to locate this hotel and I had to call the hotel for specific directions. Look for the blue and white sign.
