convenient but not full service

Pros: good location Cons: hotel staff is not on duty 24 hours a day, so if any emergency happens, you are on your own.

Great Hotel

This was my third trip to Paris and by far, this was our best hotel yet. The location could not be better. Literally, we were less than 100 meters from the Arc, in the centre of Paris. The Metro was around the corner and the bus stop to and from the airport could be seen from our room. My daughter and I were very lucky to have had a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc. The hotel reception could not be beat. The staff was very helpful and always willing to answer questions, give directions and take the time to try and book venues for us for New Year’s Eve. Yes, there is a a club downstairs that can get noisy, but the view, the service and the room itself (with a convenient small kitchen) by far made up for this. Having experienced other hotels in Paris with the same star rating, I recommend this hotel!

great apartment/hotel

The only thing wrong with it was that the bathtub needed bleach for the mold around the edges. Tub was clean otherwise. They did clean every day. Also, the fuse kept blowing when I had the tv and one small burner on. I learned how to manipulate the fuse box in the kitchen/dining area. Excellent location. 15 yards from metro Etoile Charles de Gauld, choose "Carnot" street exit, 20 yards from the Air France airport shuttle. Very nice neighborhood. I was very happy that they had a safe in the apartment.

Cautionary Notes

If you are staying at least 6 days, you can get a much lower rate than the package listed on Expedia which includes a "hotel option" with daily maid service and fresh towels. Make your own bed and reuse the towels and you’ll save 60 Euro a day. Make sure that you get the CODE to access the hotel when there is nobody at the desk, which turns out to be after 7:00 on Saturday, during lunch, and many other times! You will be locked out with no hope of getting in. The room itself is simple and comfortable enough but the air handling system is non-existent and you’ll need to open windows so you don’t roast. Problem is that the hotel is located right over 2 bars with incredibly noisy patrons who quite literally stay up ALL NIGHT. They were still going strong at 8:00 am Sunday morning. You’re paying for location-location-location. A metro/RER stop is 30 feet from the front door. You’re in front of the Belgian embassy and a few minutes way from the Arc de Triomphe (which you can see from your room on the 5th floor) and there are bakeries and grocery stores within a few blocks and a lot of nice neighborhoods for pleasant strolls. The kitchen is minimalist but you’ve got a mini-refrigerator and microwave and dishes.

Noisy

This hotel is next to a nightclub and a couple of mornings between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., I was awaken by partygoers who were REALLY LOUD. Also, in the evenings the front desk is closed and the door to the hotel is locked. You are given a code to punch in to get in the hotel. If you decide to stay at this hotel don’t forget your key.

Traveler's tip

Ask for a room in the back.

wonderful location, simple but clean rooms, views to die for

we spent 5 days at this apart-hotel, and were very satisfied with the hotel, the views of the arch of triumph and the eiffel tower from are french doors were sublime, staff very kind, for a budget hotel it felt like a 4 stars hotel, one block away from the arch and champs elisees. We stayed in 3 rooms (group of 6) we highly recommend it

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

in paris there’s nothing better than using the metro, that is cheap and very reliable. Enjoy the most incredible city in the world

Not for picky, high demanding customer, Perfect for just sleeping customers

We spend 4 nights on this hotel in October ’08 and we are honestly really happy with the results. The hotel is in one of the best locations ever: around 3 metro stations, 10 yds from the bus stop (Air France shuttle) and one block and a half away from the Arc of Triumph. This is not a hotel, it is like a "Extended Stay" type of accomodation where you have a small studio with basic facilities at a great price. If you are looking for a full service hotel "american style", you better pay 300 Euros and get into any chain hotel but if you are just in the hotel to take a shower, have some sleep and rest for a couple hours in a clean bed while you keep you stuff safe, this is your place! Unbeatable location, basic services, good cleaning and friendly staff (although they have short hours of operation, but again, this is not a concierge type hotel). Will stay again without a doubt if I want to be close to everything without spending a fortune in Paris.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Purchase the Rountrip ticket for LES CARS OF AIR FRANCE (One of the two shuttle services from the airport) it will cost you only 22 Euros and you are cover roundtrip; you save 6 euros right there since the single is 14 and it stops literaly 10 yds from the hotel door; the other shuttle is a little bit cheaper but you will have to either take the metro or walk for over 20 blocks.

Would definitely go back

My criteria was met-clean, hair dryer, elevator and own bath. Unexpected perk was the location. Could not have been better--close to good, not pricey restaurants, close to Metro, Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower could be seen from window. I would definitely recommend and return--but next time request a non-street room. A little noisy but earplugs worked fine.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

For a few days stay--get the Metro pass. Excellent transport and they are everywhere. Also get the Museum pass--saves waiting in line time.

If not for the nightclub....

We would recommend this hotel if it weren’t for the nightclub next door that made sleep impossible on Sat night....otherwise it is in a good location and the staff were very friendly.

Not That Great

It’s more of a room rental than a hotel. The staff leave at about 5:00pm and locks the building up. Them do give you a code to get back in , but if you need anything at night forget it. we had 3 rooms and all 3 had mold in the bath tub, toilet didn’t work in one, hair dryer didn’t work and one shower flood the floor when turned on due to bad piping. Oh, and no view except on the top floor. Other than that everthing was great.

Traveler's tip

Lots of other places to stay in the same area.

pictures are misleading

The hotel room was the smallest of the 100 odd hotels I must have stayed in my travels. The pictures on the web were misleading giving an impression of a much better hotel. Location is in general good, but on saturday the concierge was missing leaving the hotel relatively accesible to anyone who could get in. All in all avoidable unless you cannot afford anything else.

Nice - except Saturday night

It’s a nice and mostly quiet place with a great location. However, don’t stay over a Saturday night when the night club next door is open all night with very loud music on!

Hotel Review

I was expecting more from this hotel and from what I read from other reviewers. First, the shower was broken even though they fix it it returns to be broke again. The cleaning service was annoying as hell!! they wake us up every day even though they see the sign state "please don’t disturb" in many languages. The only advantage for this hotel is its location.

Excellent Value

My husband and I (age 31) stayed at this hotel because of the location close to the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysées. We were able to walk to all the other sights (Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Orangerie Museum, Notre Dame, Museum Rodin, Museum d’Orsay, St. Sulpice, etc), but the walks were long, so bring your walking shoes or just take public transportation. We enjoyed walking because we got to see more. The area was excellent and loaded with various restaurants as well as excellent shopping all within walking distance. The room was a nice size and very clean. We had room service every day, but you need to do your own dishes. The man who worked the front desk was very nice and spoke English so it was easy to communicate with him. The bathroom was also a nice size with a tub/shower combo. The only thing that slightly bothered me was that there was some mildew in the corner of the shower. It wasn’t enough to gross me out and I am very picky, so don’t let ths hold you back. The kitchen area was small, but great for holding cold drinks that you can pick up at a market right down the street. The kitchen area also had a stove and microwave. Overall, this hotel is perfect for a couple/family who isn’t looking for something glamourous. It is safe, clean and spacious so you feel comfortable hanging out after a long day of sight seeing.

Not like it was advertised

We were soooo excited to finally go to Paris. We picked this pleasant looking hotel from the expedia pool and thought it looked good. We booked a superior room with two double beds. They said they had no double beds and had to give us another room. Then they told us on the last day they had to move us to another room!!! Not happy at all. The only thing good about this hotel was a pretty good location.

Wonderful location and clean/big (in Paris standards) rooms

I like this hotel because of its location as well as its clean and big rooms. It’s intended for extended stays, thus it has a closet with a cooking range and some kitchen utensils. We got a quite room overlooking the back of the building, which was great! This area is a busy part of Paris, and the rooms overlooking the street side can be noisy. Would want to go there again.

Near métro, bus to and from airport, supermarket and markets

Tilsitt is one street away from the Arc de Triomphe. You can easily walk to métro station CDG-Étoile (1 min), where you can also take a train (RER). Also nearby (1-2 min) you can also take the bus to Orly and CDG. Super-nicely situated, near supermarket, restaurants, bakery (pâtisserie-boulangerie). Our room had a nice view of the Arc de Triomphe and Tour Eiffel. Rooms are equipped with small kitchennette. Personnel at front desk were courtious and helpful. When we arrived, I inspected the room for cleanliness and functionnality, and whatever I found that needed to be corrected was indeed corrected in the same afternoon.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Before getting to Paris, study a map of the city and the area where you will stay. Get references from people that know the city for places to eat that are out of the tourist-trap areas.

Good value

If you are looking for a good central location in Paris that has tons of shopping and restaurants and access to the train station close by, this is a great place to stay. Everything was just right and the room was clean and the staff is courteous. Its overall good value for your money.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Arc De Triumph is just a stones through away and the Champs De Elysses shopping area close to the hotel.

Extended Stay, Clean, good location, small

The room was very small, but clean and safe. Not much traffic in the hotel as it is an extended stay hotel. Very near the train station and the main street. I was satisfied, but will roll the dice on the next visit.

I`ll be back

Best bang for your buck, just steps away from the air france bus end terminal, metro, bus and the arch. Got the 3 day pass which was worth every penny. The mini kitchen helped reduce food costs since the euro during our visit was almost reaching the double value to the dollar. Great front desk. Will go back anytime.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

everybody walks in paris so they sell shoes for walking all day. Got a pair there and threw away my US made pair, never regretted it.

Great for families & folks OK with less than a 5 star level hotel

Awesome location- 1/2 block from Arc de Triomphe, Metro/RER, Champs de Elysees - close to restaurants, market, pharmacy, etc. We traveled w/ a 9-yr-old & asked for 2 double beds. Ended up with a sep. bedroom, kitch./LR w/ fold out comfy bed, big new BA-great hot showers, large walk-in closet, 2 TVs. We were out most of the time but in the evenings and mornings were very comfortable. Took prior reviewers advice and kept close track of our key and entry code to lobby since front desk is only staffed during the day. But we’re used to this kind of hotel. Didn’t need extra services since we were there to be tourists. Would stay here again. Decor is minimal but, again, not why we were there! :)

Definitely make the 20 min. Metro trip to St. Denis to see the church there. All the kings, queens of France inc. Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette have there tombs there. The marble mausoleums and statues above their tombs are life size and impressive for kids. Go to Louvre on Fri. night at 8:30 p.m. No crowds & it’s open until 9:45 on Fridays.

Ideal location - simple yet comfortable

I chose this hotel based on the reviews listed here, and I wasn’t disappointed. The location cannot be beat, walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees and a block to the metro station to get you anywhere else you want to go. My room was small but comfortable -- the bathroom was a nice size. The fridge was a nice touch; there is also a cooking element but why cook in a hotel room when you’re in Paris? I was travelling alone and I felt very comfortable and safe staying in this hotel.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

As others have mentioned, the Air France bus from CDG stops almost literally in front of the hotel and can’t be more convenient. Get a museum pass if you plan on seeing the big attractions (the Louvre, Musee d’Orsay, Arc de Triomphe) -- it allows you to beat the worst of the ticket lines and you’ll find a smaller venue or two that may interest you as well.

Good enough!

I believe I got my money’s worth. Would I stay there again? Probably yes. But as far as the kitchenette provision - I refrained from using a stove that was built into a closet and hoped no one else in the building would even consider it! Forget them supplying an iron/board. Their suggestion was to go to a laundry a few doors away. You come and you go, relatively no service. Young woman on desk on Monday was very good and gave excellent advise relative to taxi to airport. Yes, I’d go back. Overall I couldn’t really complain and I didn’t!
