Annabella Hotel - Balatonfured
The hotel has not had a proper refurbishment probably since before the communist era! The staff though friendly do not speak much english and are not exactly knowledgable of the surrounding area. The bath rooms are like nothing I have ever seen before with a common tap serving both the bath tub and the wash hand basin and are painted in this vile colour; I have photos to show should anyone be interested. Oh, by the way, you cannot be too short otherwise your chances of actually getting into the bath tub are very slim or impossible without the use of a stool or step ladder. The sheets were not changed daily and the TV’s in the rooms date to pre history. It is unfortunate in that the setting is beautiful and Balatonfured is actually very quaint and well kept. A really great place but be prepared to use your phrase books if you do not speak Hungarian or at least, some German.
