High Expectations
We went to the empire expecting a lot, as it was a 6 star hotel, formerly a 7 star. The room and facilities were all that we had expected, the service was a bit less than we expected.

An incredible place
The Hotel is the best I have every stayed in. I have travelled the world for 35 years to find a place like that. Pity the bar only serves soft drinks though.

A Wonderful Hotel
The Empire Hotel and Country Club is a wonderful property. A friend and I spent our last Eid holiday there and were pleasantly surprised. Our room was extremely comfortable and had a wonderful view. We didn’t stay in the main building but we had a beautiful swimming pool right outside our building. The hotel is very large and golf carts come around to transport guests around. Stock up on snacks and drinks before you get to the hotel as the food was expensive and not very good. The best thing about the room was the full jacuzzi in the bathroom and the movie theatre right on the hotel grounds.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Hire a driver to take you around the city. It’s a lot cheaper than the local tours. Don’t miss out on the water stilt village.
