"Extremely Uncomfortable Bed"
My husband and I were looking so forward to our get away. Time to be together, enjoy the ocean, beach, sun, and relax. About a week before we left we had some friends who had just returned from the RIU LAS AMERICAS tell us that the mattress would probably be uncomfortable. I thought "oh it wont be that bad". Boy was I wrong! It was so uncomfortable that I couldnt wait to get home to my own bed. If you can sleep on tile floors youll be fine.....because thats what it feels like. I enjoyed pretty much everything else, but its hard to have a good time when youre not rested! Something else you should keep in mind is that being close to the equator and the location of the hotel ( it faces north) it makes it hard to enjoy laying out in the sun. You have to move around to stay in the sun. Also, the water is beautiful, but NOT the beach! Hurricane Wilma messed up the beaches (decreased the size) a couple of years ago. They are fixing to restore the beach, but until they do you should know its not a place you want to go to "sit on the beach and relax"!!!

Riu Palace- great service & location
I loved the Rui Palace. The service was great and personalized. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to shopping malls, literally a couple blocks away. The rep at Hotel who works for Best Buy/Expedia was verfy friendly, he knew what he was talking about. Everything was great. The only thing that we were not crazy about was the food. The food was good, no complaints there, but it wasnt great... where you want to get a 2nd plate or crave it later. Ive had better food at other hotels. Especially with this being in Mexico, Mexico has such a variety of outstanding food.
