Not Impressed

The bathroom was not clean and when we pulled back the covers on the bed the sheet had what appeared to be a dried blood stain on it we have to actually argue with management to get someone to change the sheets. Breakfast consisted of an apple and a cold bagel. The only good thindg about the motor inn was that it was just seconds away from Cedar Point.

I would stay there again

I enjoyed staying a this hotel, it had a nice pool and friendly staff. the room was kept clean and the beds were comfortable. When I go back to Sandusky, Ohio, I will stay there again.

Not impressed

Staff was okay at check in, but room was pretty dirty and run down. Beds were very uncomfortable. Even my 10 year old complained how bad her back hurt when she woke up. Pool was fun but hot tub wasn’t even bath water hotness- very cold. Will stay somewhere else next trip.

Just fine for the money

The room was clean and maintined. I liked that they had soap, shampoo and lotion dispencers in the sink and shower area. I would have really liked a luggage stand though.

Cedar Point and Lake Erie are just around the corner. We had never been to either. Loved Cedar Point. Millenium Force is a MUST DO rollercoaster. We wanted to eat dinner over looking the lake, so we went to Daemon’s (sp?) Loved watching the sunset as we ate a great meal.

Experienced poor housekeeping and lip service over real service. Had a suite for 3 nights. Kitchen area had no coffeemaker. We inquired about getting one and was told one would be brought FOUR times over 2 days, and finally one was brought at 10 pm the 2nd day, but had no filters or coffee. No hangers in closet and no hooks anywhere to hang things. Requested hangers the day after we arrived and told we would get some, but never arrived. When arrived, pulled out ironing board and found underwear from previous guest under it. There is a light in the closet and one wonders why it could not be seen. When preparing to leave, looking carefully to be sure we did not leave anything behind revealed items between the bedstand and beds that were not ours (barettes, ripped up paper pieces)

Pool was fun for my children and location was good for Cedar Point, but not worth the price.

Good value, wear shoes

As a family of six, we were pleased with the reasonable prices and very conveninent location of the Inn. The room was clean (* see below) and accomodated us well. We stayed two nights, and would stay there again. The only complaint is that the carpet, while appearing clean, will get your feet or socks filthy in no time. I am sure this is beacuse the doors open directly to the outside and dirt is quickly tracked in. I was reluctant to let anything touch the floor.

This Inn is located within a few hundred yards of the Cedar Point causeway--very convenient.

Old, no amenities hotel

It’s one of the closest hotels to Cedar Point park, but it’s a bit disappointing. Old and not very well maintained building. Service is provided by a lone operator/desk clerk who sometimes is overwhelmed by calls/customers. I had to dial 3 times for her to answer my call. Definitely a cheap hotel that delivers according to the price.

Pricey rooms for a 3rd rate motel

Beds are uncomfortable with worn-out mattresses, protruding wires. Weak cable tv signal causing snowy pictures. No wireless internet signal in rooms, you have to bring your laptop to the main lobby or restaurant, yeah they’re not totally accurate when they advertise ’free wireless internet’.

You can buy discounted tickets ($7 less) to Cedar Point Amusement Park on local stores like Drug Mart or Meijer.

but it must not have been the night before. Our room reeked of smoke. We went out and bought Febreeze and Oust to try and make it better. The hotel is very close to Cedar Point though.

Don’t Go There

This motel billed itself as being the closest to Cedar Point -- not true. When you first pull up, the place looks OK, but on closer examination you realize you’ve made a mistake. The room smelled awful, there were unidentified stains on the wall, the sheets didn’t fit on the bed and the exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like an outbord motor. I’m all for shunning the chains and throwing business to the Mom & Pop operations when I can, but this one needs to clean up its act or get out of the business!

Nice Place to Stay!

This was a nice place to stay and so close to Cedar Point for the money! Kids I took had a good time at the pool at night. The hottub was little bit of a joke though..more like a luke-warm bubbling tub area. Overall though, it was a pleasant stay, clean room, good value. Will be staying there next time too!

Not happy.

Check in time is 3PM. We arrived at about 2PM and were told that he room was not ready yet. We returned at 4PM and they gave us the key to the room. We went inside the room and it was a mess. the beds were not made, the floors and bath were dirty. When I reported this to the office they seemed not to care. We stood around for another hour while they slowly cleaned our room. We’ll stay somewhere else next time.

We’ll be back

The hotel was easy to find and really close to the entrance of Cedar point amusement park. It was clean and the room was nice. I would go back when I return for another trip to Sandusky.

Just around the corner from Cedar Point, perfect price for a room you only sleep in.

Great for a Place to Rest

In the area, this is one of the few hotels with a decent star rating, and the experience I had matched the rating it was given. While the service at the front desk and restaurant area was less than stellar, the room provided everything we needed while we were staying the night before and after a long day at Cedar Point. The room and bathroom were clean and I felt comfortable while I was there. It’s exactly what you’d expect for the price. I’d stay there again.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you are in the mood for a decent breakfast, skip the buffet offered by the hotel’s restaurant. The relationship between quality and price is quite skewed. It’s okay if it is your only option, but you pay for nothing better than a "Continental Breakfast."

Great value

Just a short drive from Cedar Point. It was a good, clean, basic room at a great price. I would definitely stay here again.

Good place to stay while visiting Cedar Point

This was a nice place to stay. The only complaint my son had was that the TV was very old. Other than that I would stay again. It is perfect for a group of kids just wanting to spend time at all the attractions, how much time does one spend in their room anyway?

If you go to Cedar Point on a cloudy, chance of rain day, keep in mind that it will probably clear up and the lines at the Point are much smaller. We went on a rain day and we were able to ride all of the coasters and most of the other smaller rides. Eat at Johnny Rockets. For the money it is perfect and filling.

Expected Impression

The location was great, one mile from Cedar Point. For a family on a budget, this is the place to stay. The price was right, it was comfortable. There is a train across the street, but it did not keep us awake. I would consider staying here again.

There is a Hauted House/ roller skating rink on Milan Street, I would definitely recommend this. It was a lot of fun.

Very close to Cedar Point

The location of the hotel is very close to Cedar Point. The hotel itself was clean with a very courteous staff. The only down side I experienced is the WiFi is only in the lobby and restaurant of the main building, not in the rooms themselves. I would gladly stay there again on my next visit to Cedar Point.
