Not Impressed
Let it be known - it is an Expedia policy that they can only give you rooms on the 1st or 2nd floor. The first room we were put in - the door whistled so loud it sounded like a freight train. We requested a new room but they didn’t have one available until the next day. The second room was much better (on the second floor) Views from the first floor not very good. The bathrooms are kinda gross. The hote lobby is nice, rooms need updating bad. Food was medicore, the Mexican restaurant was good, but the Italian wasn’t the best, the buffet was ok. The beach was nice and clean - the pools were absolutely freezing. Both my husband and I both got some sort of stomach bug during the trip - and we didn’t leave the resort at all, nor did we drink the water. So it came from the food or drinks here. I would not go back to this resort.

Oasis Viva Beach
Hotel location is excellent, however the room is pretty old and the wall is very thin. You can hear whatever your next door neighbor is talking about. Service is OK, pretty friendly.

Not Impressed At All
When we walked into our room, there was a puddle of water in front of one of the beds. When we asked the bell boy where the water came from, he just said that he would have the housekeeper bring us more towels. It appeared that they also had done some patch work that day in the bathroom vanity area and there was a small mound of fresh molding on the vanity counter. Also, we had a balcony room, but unfortunately, the door to go onto the balcony did not fit the frame properly so there was a loud whistling noise in the room (so loud that you would not be able to sleep).

Honeymoon program
All honeymooners staying at Oasis Viva Beach, Grand Oasis Cancun, Oasis Cancún, Grand Oasis Playa, and Grand Oasis Riviera Maya will receive a complimentary upgrade to suite accommodations (where available) or best possible accommodation (based on advance request and subject to availability); a bottle of champagne in their room; and one free night on their first anniversary’s return trip (minimum five-night stay) to the same hotel.
The anniversary trip also includes a room category upgrade and bottle of champagne.
