Beautiful hotel - Good location - Avg standard rooms
We stayed at the Westin for two nights. Its a beautiful hotel. The hotel really feels like an old palace. Its in a very good location (not the best). You have to walk about 10 mins to the plazas and shopping areas. I would have rated the location as excellent if it were on the doorsteps of such areas. For us who like to walk through local streets it was very good though. The dining area is beautiful and the breakfast spread was impressive with very fresh fruits, various pastries and meats. We had a standard room which was somewhat disappointing for the price. The pro of the room was the huge bathroom. The bedroom was like any other bedroom youd get at a 3 star hotel. Also - you pay a fortune to stay here but you dont even get free internet of complimentary water which now is standard in most hotels. In summary- I would stay here again - but it would depend on the price. Its not worth it beyond a specific pricepoint and I do I think I paid more than it was worth (mid 300s). You are better of going to a boutique hotel instead. Oh- Service was very good also. Nothing to complain about here.

The Madrid Palace is a royal delight
This was our 2nd vacation at the Madrid Westin and it was fantastic. It is a beautiful hotel in a terrific location of Madrid. It is within blocks of three of the best museums in the world and only a short distance from the architecturally striking Auditorio Nacional, Spains premium concert hall. The staff at the hotel couldnt have been more courteous and helpful. The Rotunda dining and meeting area is a delight to behold. As for our room, it was clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet. Who could ask for anything more?
Prado Museum, Sophia Museum, Thyssen Museum, Placio Real, Retiro Park, Auditorio Nacional, Toledo Catherdral, El Escorial, the memorial for the dead of the Spanish Civil War.
