15 minutes from Northern Illinois University
Half the price of a Dekalb Hotel on a NIU Football Weekend only 15min. away! Although our trip was to visit out daughter at NIU in DeKalb, we came across this little gem only 15 min. from NIU. The hotel will be switching over to a Holiday Inn Express. Looks like a comfort Inn with no sign. At the intersection of US39 and IL38 which is only 15 minutes to DeKalb. In DeKalb & Sycamore, the Comfort Inn wanted almost twice for what we paid here since it was a NIU home football game weekend. We stayed here for two nights for what we would have paid for one night in Dekalb. Actually, the NIU football team stayed at this hotel the night before the game. It was the quietest stay I’ve ever had! The only downside was the breakfast was average at best, but several fast food places and a truck stop at the same intersection.

Great hotel, but buy more towels!
When we arrived they could find our reservation but no room saved. The two gals at the desk were extremely friendly and showed us a couple of rooms to choose from. The room was very nice and clean. On our second morning there, we requested extra towels and they were out. The pool was closed but no one told us when we checked in. Breakfast was nothing fancy, but doable. It was homecoming weekend at NIU and the football team was there along with students. But despite this, there was no loudness or rowdiness. The friendliness of the staff was one of the best parts of this hotel!

Great value
Found this hotel on the internet based on price and location for a one nights stay while on a long trip. I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations for a non-chain hotel. Room was excellent, bed and pillows were very comfortable, everything seemed clean. Breakfast had the usual variety but in a very large comfortable room with couch and comfy chairs. The only drawback was the lack of a sign by the road. Drove right by the first time and had to turn around. Once we got there, everything was good!
