My delightful stay at the Vienna Hilton Hotel
I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but this hotel has been the best. What made the difference was not so much the facilities or the food, but the personnel were absolutely outstanding. They were curteous, intelligent, followed through on issues that could not be solved immediately, offered extra time and services, make first-rate suggestions - they were the best I have ever experienced! Thank you very much!

Superior Hotel
The hotel is very well run. The bathroom was spacious and immaculate. Room service was punctual and very courteous. The front desk was very helpful as was the internet station. The food in the restaurant was very good and the service impeccable.

You can walk to almost everything. Stadt Park is enjoyable for a walk.

Don’t waste your money on an upgrade to an Executive Floor
There is only one Executive Lounge for three very large Executive Floors. The lounge had only one computer that could be accessed for free. Free intranet access was not available in the rooms or the general Business Center, except with special permission. Good luck competing with the children for the computer in the Executive Lounge. My recommendation to Hilton is to either provide free internet access in the rooms to Eexecutive Guests, or installmore computers in the Executive Lounge and create a Family Floor for guests with children. Sometimes you have to work, even when on vacation, and business travelers and executives should not have to contend with children in the Executive Lounge. Executive Floor guests also have to take breakfast in the Executive Lounge rather than the main dining room. The variety was good, although not a plentiful as the Continental breakfast made available to other guests, and service was inconsistent and disorganized. As one of the largest hotels in Vienna, the place also tends to get overrun by tour groups, making the place fel factory-like and leaving individual travelers somewhat neglected. The rooms and the hotel in general were extremely clean. The dinner service in their main restaurant and the food itself were excellent, though pricey - even more pricey than many of the restaurants located in the Inner City. The hotel is also one block away from the CAT (City Airport Transportation) train that links the airport to town.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
CAT (City Air Transport) fare into town is 9 EU (cab 50 EU), w/discounts for RT, online, and ATM purchases, or w/Vienna Card (discounts on public trans, sight, events, restaurants). Xfer may be required to the U-Bahn (subway), which is easy to navigate and pleasant to ride. Vienna Sightseeing conducts most tours and does a good job. However, you will want to revisit some of the tour sites on your own at a less rushed pace. Movie buffs, catch The Third Man tour offered by another tour operator.
