NOT a hotel, just a room with kitchenette
We stayed here as a base for seeing the Tour de France. Beautiful little town, but the Appart’Valley isn’t a hotel at all. They rent rooms and suites by the night or the week and there isn’t even anyone at the desk from early evening till morning. The staff that was there during the day didn’t speak English, but they bent over backward to help out! You have to buy your own toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, etc. We got one very small bath towel apiece which we had to launder ourselves. The room was large with very minimal furniture. We asked for - and got - a tiny tv, a hair dryer, and a second kitchen chair. Comfortable double bed. Two very weird things: the water was hot enough to scald and there was no shower curtain (common in France). We wouldn’t stay here again, but if you know what you’re getting, it’s an unbeatable price!
Traveler's tip
Don’t expect to be able to use the internet unless you’re in a major city in southern France. DO go to Pic du Midi if you’re in the area - it’s absolutely spectacular!
