So conveniently situated

A well positioned moderate hotel with easy access to the airport, restaurants and the metro. Having a kitchen gives so much flexibility and there is a Trader Joes across the street. The hotel staff are friendly and professional. They do a very good continental breakfast each morning. We stayed a week and found it suited our needs perfectly.

Washington Suites Georgetown

The hotel is adequate for families with small kids. we have a 2.5 year old and it was fine, the kitchen was great to keep snacks, milk, and "kid stuff" in it. We were visiting a friend who lives in DC so we were primarily only in the hotel to sleep. One suggestion is if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room that faces the alley, don’t get a room overlooking Pennsylvania Ave (VERY loud on weekends). Our room overlooked a sidestreet but it was RIGHT next to a church, and on Sunday that is worse than traffic (the bells!!!). The hotel is also very close to a hospital, so you hear a LOT of ambulance noise. It does not allow you to control your own heat/air conditioning, but we found it comfortable (we were there in early November). Get to the breakfast early and bring it back to your room... I’d recommend the hotel if you are looking for a basic, clean, no frills experience.

Just What We Needed

After staying downtown at a fancy hotel, this was a breath of fresh air. The unit is huge, with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. The buses stop right outside and the Metro is just a quick walk around the corner. There is a nice little market across the street. The occupant cannot control the room tempurature very well. It was hot in the unit the first night, but we requested a fan the next day. They brought it right up and we were very comfortable after that. It was comfortable and convenient to all the sights.

Good place for an economical family stay

Staff was helpful and friendly, we are a family of 4 and stayed in a one bedroom and had plenty of room. Breakfast was fine for the kids and if you are okay with basic foods, coffee was not good. Short walk to Georgetown for dinner and to Foggy Bottom metro. Nothing fancy, but good place to stay if you plan on seeing the sites instead of staying at the hotel or hotel property.

Georgetown for dining was fun, would recommend Martins. Downtown you need to try Old Ebbitts. Suprising to me was how much fun the Spy Museum was, give it a try.

Good value in Foggy Bottom...

This is a good standard suite hotel close to the orange and blue lines and in a good neighborhood. While nothing in DC is cheap this was a good value.

Good Location, Lots of space in room

The location of this place is great for those who want to be near Georgetown and walking distance to the monuments etc. After a day of walking round the mall etc. Georgetown is stumbling distance away for dinner in evening. Nice lobby but small, friendly staff, no problems with anything. The general decor of the room was starting to look a little tired, eg. a rip on a chair. Electrical points on the walls were all loose- wouldn’t like that if I had kids. Also -ok, it was not dirty at all- but not the cleanest Ive stayed in, corners of rooms dusty etc. The room though had great space, separate bedroom and large sofa bed in livingroom, plus big kitchen.

Servicable Hotel

Convenient location, staff I interacted with all seemed friendly although I didn’t need them for directions, etc., so I couldn’t commment on that. Free breakfast is a nice plus.

We had a great stay here. Our room was clean and had a full sized fridge in it. We had 2 flat screen TV’s. I would stay here again.

Mixed Review

Spacious, clean suite, 2 flat screen TVs, but bedroom carpet wet (prior cleaning?), considerable street noise, parking rates should be noted in pricing.

Affordable and convenient

Hotel is a good value. Rooms are suites with kitchen and living room. Comfortable, quiet (I was on the first floor!) and efficient staff.

Great Location

It is not 5 star, but it was perfect for our family of four. The location was a close walk to the Metro, Georgetown, and the Lincoln Memorial. The place was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. The Trader Joe’s across the street allowed us to get water and snacks to put in our nice sized kitchen. The complimentary breakfast was just what we needed before a long day of sight seeing. We had a wonderful trip and would definitely stay here again.

Would definitely stay there again.

Very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. Decorated in the old "Washington" style. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Having a suite was convenient. Very convenient location. Only 3 blocks to Metra station at Foggy Bottom. Only 8 blocks to the White House. We would definitely stay here again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Washington Suites is very close walking distance to many of the monuments.

Enjoyed My Stay

There were 5 of us that stayed at this hotel and we all enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and the service was great. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping was friendly and helpful. It was nice having a full size refrigerator in the room, not some mini that hotels usually fill up with junk that take up half of it. All the essentials of a full kitchen were there. Housekeeping even did our dishes (in the dishwasher). The neighborhood was great and close to bus and metro stops. I would definitely stay there again.

Traveler's tip

Be very careful when signing up for the Hop On Hop Off tours. When we signed up at the train station the woman told us we had 48 hours from the time that our ticket was validated but once the 2nd day ended (not the 48 hours), we were told our time was up.

Great location

The location of this hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. Although there was a full kitchen there was no table or chairs where you could sit and eat.

Washington DC hotel

I don’t know how many stars this hotel has, but the staff is five stars for sure. Hotel was fine, clean, etc., but the staff was the shining light.

I’d go back

The hotel was comfortable and well located. Rooms were good size; only drawback was the need for more and brighter lighting. I usually like to try new places but this is one I would go back to.

Best hotel I’ve stayed in

I can’t afford to stay in expensive hotels, but a summertime deal at the Washington Suites of Georgetown made this place affordable for me, and I was extremely impressed. Spotless rooms, large and comfortable, friendly staff and great location. The $1 Circulator bus stopped 1/2 a block away, and took me wherever I wanted to go. Only problem is the $30 valet parking fee is pricey- then you are supposed to tip every time you want your car. Next time I’ll leave me car behind and just use the Circulator. The breakfast was just adequate.

Great location

Close to Foggy Bottom metro, walking distance to Georgetown and Kennedy Theatre, good sized suites with kitchen, clean, friendly desk staff, free wireless internet. Manager’s reception on Tuesday evening was a nice touch, we got to chat with the hotel staff there and also with other guests.

Good value for money

Good value for money but breakfast was weak (though free). Parking is also relatively expensive at $30/day.

Suites are large, with kitchen useful for families with young children

Second stay

This is a perfect location if you spend a lot of time in Georgetown but also need to be near the Metro. I don’t like to drive around Washington, so having parking (included for a fee) at the hotel was a plus. The morning breakfast is convenient but usually somewhat crowded, so it’s good to take your meal back to your room to eat in peace. This is the second time we have stayed there, and we will stay again when we’re next in DC.

Good hotel

The room was clean and in good repair. The staff were very friendly. The only issue we had was that there is limited seating for the continental breakfast. Otherwise it was a very positive experience.

Great Space For a Family

Hotel had ample space and better cooking facilities than most suite hotels. It is a bit of a stretch to say that it is in Georgetown proper, but it is a walkable distance from there and only 3 blocks to the Metro. Only issue that I had was the laundry facilities. 2 washers and 2 dryers for a large amount of people. Results in either long waits or coming back mid-day.
