Great place for vacationers
This is a wonderful hotel in a great location; an easy walk to shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. If you need internet access for business purposes, however, this may not be the place for you. In my somewhat limited experience, internet service in German hotels is expensive, and slow. Not a winning combination.

I Love the See Hotel!
The See Hotel is located in a very good area directly across from the boardwalk and right next to the train station in Friedrichshafen (FN). The hotel is more on the modern side(Euro-German)as opposed to Old World German Charm, but still maintains the flavor of Germany with its wonderful breakfast offering. Each floor in the hotel (5 total) can be reached by elevator or a staircase that zig-zags up from the middle of the lobby to the top, stopping at the fitness center. This entire area is very open and is all glass. While in your room it is surprisingly quite, however when you open a window (and the windows open on every floor I think) you do get the sense of activity either from the train station or the lobby. But like I said, while I was in the room-heard nothing from outside, the lobby or even from any other rooms. I really like this hotel! The staff was very nice and helpful and was always on hand to buzz the parking gate open and also the garage door entrance to the hotel. The parking garage is very cool as it is located under the hotel and makes coming and going very easy.
