Convenient location - Great Breakfast
This hotel is extremely convenient for easy on/off the autobahn. ( the north-western route into Pforzheim, as there are three routes in/out). Rated 3 star...it is at least a 3 1/2.+ There is free underground garage parking and a very nice neighborhood Italian restaurant adjacent to the hotel.Vast array of choices and reasonably priced for Germany. Only drawback for summer months...no A/C, but it still worked out OK. Rooms are moderate in size, but very comfortable and clean. The city itself does not offer much except the clock making industry but location makes it a great evening stopover between other cities. EXCELLENT breakfast included in the lounge upstairs on the 6th floor.

The Italian restaurant and the morning buffet breakfast are both excellent.

Need Soundproofing at the Residenz
The staff is friendly, the facilities are clean and well maintained, the breakfast buffet is well appointed (though a little expensive at a 11 Euro), and the underground parking garage is a nice feature. Wireless Broadband internet is available at hourly, daily or weekly rates. However, be aware, the walls seem to be paper thin, and noise is a detracting factor. Also, a neighboring automated(loud) car wash runs most of the day at the gas station to the north. I have stayed at this hotel for the past two years, in June, for 2 weeks each time. I will probably book a room, once again, next June. However, it will be with some reservation due to the noise factor. This year 2 conventions were booked during my stay, and the hotel staff did not seem to discourage load gatherings of multiple people in the rooms at late hours. Normally this might not be a problem, but I reiterate, noise travels easy at the Residenz. Bring earplugs or ear phones and you’ll be all right. So with some reservations, for the price, I would recommend a stay at the Residenz.
