Closest thing to an American hotel I could find.
Other than the bed being uncomfortable, this hotel was great. After changing my reservation from another hotel that was absolutely terrifying, the Kriti Hotel was an oasis! Its equivalent to an American Holiday Inn...the hotel staff is all very friendly and willing to help in any way possible. Overall excellent experience!

Maybe some rooms are comfortable, but not ours
The girl who greeted us at the front desk was friendly and the lobby clean and spacious. But the room we were given was small and the two single beds had uncomfortably firm mattresses. The closet also had a smell of mildew. Our sleep was frequently interruped by the roar of mopeds and motorcycles enjoying the coastal street that curved past the hotel. This sound continued until after 2 AM. But the breakfast in the rooftop dining room was good and we found the town of Chania to be very charming and beautiful. We probably should have requested a different room, but we only stayed one night before continuing on to other parts of Crete. If we return to Chania, we will probably choose a different hotel.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The town of Chania contains many hidden treasures of charming beauty that can be found by exploring the streets of this small coastal town. The ruins of the Venetian era often have more modern houses built onto the remaining walls and some of the ancient houses are still maintained and occupied. The Venetian harbor is lined with many good restaurants and hotels facing the landmark lighthouse. The Samaria Gorge, about 25 Km away, also provides a beautiful hike for the adventurous.

Excellent hotel value
Hotel staff was very helpful. Included breakfast buffet with a very large assortment of options and was tasty. Very short walk to beach, resteraunts, shopping, etc. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the price was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel and will definately stay if I ever return to Crete.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Schedule a day trip to Samaria Gorge and to Elafonisi Island. Neither place should be missed. The gorge is a long hike but they offer "Lazy" tours for those who dont wish to make the 13km trek. Elafonisi is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
