Quiet Hotel near St. Marks
Our plane arrived many hours before check-in. They kept our baggage for us so we could begin enjoying Venice right away. The desk people were very helpful, the bed was medium firm, very good for our backs. The hotel was very clean and had two high decks with a view of San Zaccaria. Breakfast was generous with eggs, fried prociutto, cheeses, cold cuts, breads, cereals, light pastries, a large selection of fruits and coffee or espresso.
For our Island tour and the Grand Canal Tour and Circling Venice we got the vaporetto 12 hour pass.

Incredible location; terrific value
This hotel has an excellent location across from the San Zaccaria church, on a quiet plaza, very convenient to Piazza San Marco and to the vaporetto. It is close to everything, but it feels quiet and secluded. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very small by American standards, although probably similar to other hotels in the same price range in Venice. The hotel has a small elevator, and staff took our bags up to our room for us. The bed was remarkably comfortable - not always the case in Europe! Breakfast was included in our rate and is a real breakfast, not just continental breakfast - there were scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage offered each day. We felt we received terrific value for the money.
Traveler's tip
Pack light - no matter where you stay in Venice, you are going to have to transport your bags from the canal to your hotel and back. Given all the bridges in Venice, this can become challenging! To save money on dining out, consider having a pizza - we ate some excellent pizzas at canal-side cafes; the pizzas are often the best thing on the menu.

Integral Part of Wonderful Trip
Seemed to be the perfect location; close to St. Marks Square and transportation hubs, but removed enough to have a tranquil feel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, particularly the concierge who gave us several hints on where to dine. The breakfast was very good, and the service was outstanding.
