Great time

My experience at the Royal Valhalla was great- excellent service, wonderful location, totally affordable. We had a really special trip! And amazingly enough we just randomly picked the Royal Valhalla- and now we absolutely wont stay anywhere else!! What a great find, I HIGHLY recommend it to other, and suggest asking for a room with a view of Lake Tahoe.

It’s all about location!

We’ve been staying here since we were kids and went for many of our summer vacations. Unfortunately now, 40 years later it’s exactly the same. That’s a good thing when you’re talking about the location, which is directly across from the lake with a beautiful view (if you’re lucky enough to get a lake front room) but if we’re talking accommodations and NOTHING has changed that’s not so good! The rooms need serious updating!!!!! Bed was very uncomfortable, bathroom too small but the balcony is great!

Be sure to go to The Beacon at Camp Richardson for their calamari and Rum Runners! Right on the beach! This place is even a great place to go in the winter.

A little disappointed

We were supposed to have a room with a view of the lake. It could only be seen from one small spot on the balcony. The floor was so loud when I walked on it I woke other people up. The bed and sofa were old and not comfortable. The location is great.

location is the best

Best thing about this hotel is the location. Walking distance to casinos and right across the street from the lake! Great view of Sunday night fireworks too! Carpet is dingy, sofa ripped and cont. breakfast was weak, but the location and price saves it!

I thought it would be better for what I paid

This hotel was not worth the amount of money I paid for a weekend stay. When I walked in my room it had paint falling from the ceiling from a water leak they tried to hide with the paint. My balcony was boarded off along with 90% of the other upper story rooms. The employees were nice and the view was good, but could of been better if I could go on the balcony, and if my TV had a remote. All and all it wasnt worth the amount of money I paid and due to that I wont stay there again.

Down by the lake.

The hotel looked a lot older than I through it would.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Lake was a great place to boat, or swim, or just relax.

Access to beach on the lake and walking distance to casinos.

We had children, 6 and 8, along and wanted beach access as well as play areas. Royal Valhalla has all that. The only thing preventing a comfortable stay was the beds which are just plain uncomfortable and need to be replaced.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Walking distance to casinos, Raley’s food market, nice marina.

Moderate accommodations-great location

This property is fine if your main concern is location. The beach is right across the street and it’s an easy walk to the casinos and entertainment at the casinos. The Lakeside Beach Grill across the street is fun for lunch. The accommodations are moderate so if you go expecting that you’ll be fine. The kitchen rooms are large but must step all the way out on the balcony for lakeview, at least in the room we had. Not bad if you get a great rate.

only 1 front desk person was nice . Don’t recommend it

I wouldn’t recommend it to any one. Rooms weren’t clean. Shower wasn’t working. Rooms don’t get cleaned completely, Linens weren’t very clean. Couldn’t use the towel. We asked for some stuff for the room, we didn’t get.....We heard more than one party complaining when they were checking out....

Next to the beach at affordable price

I stayed at Royal Valhalla for a wedding that weekend, and incidentally had some business to attend to. Located right on the borderline of Cali/Nevada this hotel was very affordable, located next to the beach, and walking distance to the casinos and shops. I was also there with a group of friends who participated in the wedding and we had a great time, loved our rooms, and we would recommend it to the casual traveler and weekend warrior.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

This hotel is located within walking distance of Casinos and attractions (Harveys / Hard Rock Cafe / Ski Gondolas / Shopping Mall strips)

mediocre hotel but fit our needs well

Right on the water, across a street from a private beach that we got access pass too. Kind of dirty, not for the squeemish but not like it was filthy or anything just not perfect. We got a 1bdrm on the 3rd floor, there was a connecting door in the hallway that went to the downstairs hotel room. We asked to have our friends moved there - it was very cool! All rooms have a balcony and view of the water, some only partial but hey its Tahoe and its all beautiful!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Go eat at Red Roof Inn for breakfast or lunch - mom n pop joint, great food. Jason’s on the other side of the lake is a must for dinner. Incredible food, fantastic service. Go up to top floor Harrah’s for veiw and pix. MS Dixie sunset dinner cruise is a keeeper. Take ski lift to top for phenom veiw and exciting trip up.

Great Place to Stay!!!!

The room was comfortable. The continental breakfast was super busy but adequate. The employees were absolutely wonderful to us. The lake was right there out our back door. We had the most relaxing weekend ever. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Back in time

This hotel was a nice hotel. It is a bit outdated... Well more than a bit. If you feel like traveling back in time to the 1980’s, this is your place! I think the beds are original too! (not so comfy) The location is great! Right alongside the lake, and within walking distance of the casinos. Overall, it was nice hotel for the price. I’d probably try another place before coming back.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

The casinos are where it’s at!

Nice View, Quiet stay, friendly personnel

The kitchen was not so good, as I expcted. There were no knifes for cutting bread or other harder things, such as meat. The forks were very weak, so that they nearly broke. The matresses could have been newer. But nevertheless, the overall impression was good.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Very good connection to the gondola in Heavenly by Shuttle busses, which were free. very nice situation near the Lake Tahoe, no traffic, by this it was very quiet.

Good location for okay hotel

Hotel was okay for the price. It was close to the Lake so I could see it from my room. Parking was a big problem. There are very limited number of parking spaces. Room was clean but can get a little renovation. It is close to the Heavenly village and Casinos.

Not impressed

View on the Lake, as advertised, is very limited. The hotel itself doesn’t prevent noise from one room to reach the other room.

Very nice choice. Goog prices and services.

I enjoyed one weekend in this hotel and I recommend it for all. Good prices and good quality of the service. Just the breakfast that is not so good. It is near from the town and very near of the casinos.

Heavenly fun

The nice thing was being across from the beach and close to Heavenly Village. The room was not very nice and the hallway had a bad smell. Hotel staff was excelent.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Heavenly village is amazing in the snow. Great food at several local restuarants
