Borderline Nasty
First the positives: 1) The people who ran the hotel were uniformly pleasant and friendly. 2) The location was very good. If you are traveling to Palo Alto on business, chances are this will be a convenient location. Now the bad: The place was beat up and run down. The rugs were old and worn out. There were two nasty stains on the carpet. It was so bad that I only took my socks off to shower. Otherwise, there was no way I would have walked around there in bare feet. The bedding appeared clean, but if there had been a Wal-Mart nearby, I would have bought my own cheap sheets and put them on the bed. The room was small and cramped, and nothing worked particularly well. I got there late at night, too late to get another room. I stuck it out for my two day trip, but if it had been longer, I would have found another place. The people were so nice, I hate to give them a bad review, but the place just needs a huge amount of work to clean it up and refurbish it.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
Rush hour traffic can be brutal. Ask around with the locals to see if theres a better way to your destination than taking the main streets.

no frills place
The hotel was was very economical and in a prime location to everything. Very basic rooms, no frills. Looks as though they are working on renovating and keeping it up . they had beautiful rose bushes in their strips of grass area. Taco bell right next door and walk to downtown street 1 block. The mgt were very pleasant. Keep in mind No Frills.....Basic.....
