Looking for great beach resort?

Hotel Diria is located right on the beach of Tamarindo. Great location! Surf lessons right on the beach in front of the hotel. Great restaurants and a local market nearby. Staff was always very helpful.

okay stay

The hotel was okay. The staff was friendly and the view from the hotel is beautiful. The noise from the street is so loud that I couldn’t sleep the first night.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Don’t book it at the hotel. It was very expensive there. There is a tour booking center a block down from the hotel and they were much cheaper. Too bad I found out after the fact.

Thank you for your comments. We wish you would have let us know about the noise you were hearing in your room, so we could have moved you to a better spot and allowed you a more comfortable stay. We never want our guests to have a bad experience. As to the tour desk, the price reflects the high quality and guarantee of safety of every tour and guide offered by our hotel. That cannot be said for other companies around town.

Tamarindo’s Nicest

My stay at El Diria was great. My boyfriend and I had a Sunset Ocean View room and the sunsets and sunrises were beautiful. The room is small but it wasnt a problem since we were barely in the room. The bathroom is small and nice. Great toilet, LOL. We didnt get to go into the pools, we were too busy. Before going, we read a ton of reviews about people compaining about the service or food which left us skeptical. When we got there, the staff was very inviting, they greeted us every morning, noon, and night, and fulfilled our requests promptly. The breakfasts are Awesome. The tour desk is Awesome. Some people complained about dinner but that Blackberry Sauce steak that I had was delicious. The drinks(alcoholic) out there are the truth! They aren’t watered down or anything. The prices are reasonable. You also dont have to be extremely fluent in Spanish, a little can go a long way.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

When you go out there definitely do the Sunset Snorkeling, ATV, and the Canopy Tour. They were so much fun. The only downside of Tamarindo, not the hotel, is that there isnt any nightlife, if youre from the east coast, it gets dark EARLY which means you cant really walk around since there isnt much street light. There is no visible moon, only bright stars at night. I would highly recommend the hotel if its your first time in Costa Rica.
