Hotel Alba
We were very satisfied with the service and accommodations of Hotel Alba. It was centrally located and had great access to shops, the train station and the "pedestrian zone" (La Pietonne).

Good Downtown Hotel In Nice, France
We arrived late and the parking for the hotel - across the road in a public parking lot - had closed at 9:30 pm so we had to park on the street and move the car first thing the next morning. The room was freshly decorated and a very nice two-storey affair. The night desk clerk was brand new and did not know where we could park or how to hook up our room phone for service. He was kind enough to lend us his own cell phone to make a local call. Both he and the day clerk spoke English and did their best to be very helpful. This is not a good location if you are driving as the road is a pedestrian precinct and Nice is a frustrating maze of one-way streets. The tram goes right by the front door, which is handy. The hotel is central for shopping and art galleries and close to the beach and the Old Town.
