Be Aware
My room smelled like freezer burned icecream. After I aired it out by opening the window for the entire length of my stay, it wasn’t as`bad. The bathroom was never able to be aired out however, and it smeled 10 times worse thant the room, I had to hold my breath everytime I went in. Not worth the central location!

Just the basics
If you only need a clean bed and a bath, then this can be the place for you. The location is convenient to all of the sights of Rouen. We were able to park on the street across from the hotel and we could walk through the city from the hotel. The hotel is a bit tired and needs some TLC.

Lacking in more than one way
If you like pillowcases, don’t go to Hotel Alba Rouen. We were planning to stay 3 days butleft early because even after several requests, we never received pillowcases and no one seemed concerned (except us!) The toilet seat also fell off repeatedly. Everything was clean but we kind of expect pillowcases when we stay at a hotel....

No pillowcases!
We booked the Hotel Alba Rouen knowing that it was a 2-star hotel....but we still expected pillowcases!!! We could have lived with everything else, the tiny room, rude staff, toilet seat falling off...but we could not handle the lack of pillowcases. First we were told that they didn’t understand English, next we were told that they were "out" of pillowcases, and finally we were told that they would have them the next day. After sleeping the first night with a towel over the pillows, we returned to our room the next day after the room had been cleaned and there were still no pillowcases. Needless to say, we checked out early. Don’t go.
