Definitely reccomended if low/medium cost is a primary consideration.
Generally nice and clean with a pleasing local architecture. Kitchen service was also very good but food selection very limited. Unfortunately an internet service was practically non existent and there are 4th floors of guest roomsbut no elevator. I would reccomend for a short stay especially for trecking groups not paying much attention to a local comfort.
Be prepared to see in Nepal heart braking misery of very many poor people and animals, especially injured/sick dogs with striking indifference of the population. Great overall powerty and lots of dirt everywhere on the streets. This is typical for that poart of the world, similar to Bangladesh or rural India, but still difficult to watch.

Spur of the moment trip
The Kanitpr temple house was a great place to stay. I was in Kathmandu for a short 5 day stop. The hotel is nicely situated on the edge of Thamel. They offer nice rooms, peace and quiet, and plenty of good food. They also offer access to a wonderful roof top terrace. The roof offered me my only view of the mountains during my stay. The staff was helpful with all of my agendas. They arranged a car tour for me one day. Everything was with a minimum of fuss. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it. I’ll stay here again when I come back to Nepal.

Kanripur Temple Review
Nice hotel for eco-conscious, no AC so can be quite warm at times. Traditional architecture is nice and near enough to Thamel.
