The people at the hotel were very nice, and accommodating
The hotel is old, and needs updating, but otherwise clean. The beach is certainly not great either. So much sea weed, that the water wasn’t clear. The hotel is located near a swamp, and depending on the wind, the odor is putrid. It can get very expensive for Americans, as Guadeloupe only accepts Euro’s. The 10 minute cab ride to the hotel, from the airport was #45.00. A bottle of water was $9.00. These are just a few examples. I will not return to the Island....There are so many in the Caribbean that are much prettier, and less expensive. If you are French, or European, it would be fine. You need to speak French to get anywhere in Guadeloupe. Very few people speak some English. I must say, everyone I met, was very friendly.

The food was wonderful, but very expensive, as is everything else on the Island.

Bugs
The hotel was fine although it had a lot of mosquitoes that came out in the morning and evening. I’d recomend to setup a screen in the terrace. The beach is beautiful and the ocean is warm and cristal clear.
Traveler's tip
Take a lot of Mosquito repelent with you. I’d recomend some of this new sunscreen product with repelent.

Lovely small hotel with friendly and helpful staff and good food.

Shops close at 2.pm on Saturday. Airport shops not open before 10.00 am.
