Great hill country stay

Enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Wild Oak - great evening activities, good on-site restaurant with music, great pool/lazy river, plus Hyatt Hill Country spa nearby! Nicely decorated room - stayed in the 2-bedroom condo which was very nice.

A great San Antonio hotel

This hotel is quite far from down town, closer to Sea World, but the area is great. The staff at the hotel are friendly and very helpful. They have a river pool, an indoor/outdoor pool with water slides, a game room, and free internet in their media room. Also, there is a little store on site that has some groceries, and starbucks coffee. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to all my family and friends.

Logan’s Roadhouse is a fun restaurant that has peanuts on all the tables and you throw the shells on the floor. The food is moderately priced, and excellent. The staff is very friendly.

Wow! What a pool!

We really enjoyed the two pools they had. One lazy river and a large indoor /outdoor pool with slides and lots of fun for kids and adults. The room was nice too. You do have to learn to overlook their meandering paths that lead to no where. All these paths and you have to walk in the street to get to the pools and restaurant. But it is totally worth the pool experience if the price works into your budget.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you are going to seaworld this hotel could be more exciting than seaworld. I would stay at a simpler hotel and do this hotel as it’s own destination or you could stay a few days longer.

Great Time At Wild Oak Ranch!

We went to Wild Oak Ranch over Columbus Day weekend. The weather was miserable (cold and rainy), but the hotel stay was fabulous. The pictures on the internet of the pool and other facilities simply do not do them justice. My kids (4 and 10) were in the inside pool (great waterslide), outside pool (another great waterslide) and lazy river - this, despite the drizzle and freezing temperatures. My husband and I enjoyed the many indoor and outdoor hottubs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return again!

A Great Family Trip

This is a perfect place for a trip with small children. There is plenty to do on-site and it’s minutes away from Sea World, which was the purpose of our visit. Our room was clean and comfortable and the kitchenette made it easy to bring food with us rather than go out and eat junk. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. We had a great time and will be back for a longer stay.

Great Place!!!! Don’t eat there!

Really really great place to stay. Loved everything about it except the restuarant is too pricey. You really dont want to leave the grounds, but you are forced to in order to find better priced and tasting food!

Great , relaxing stay

We stayed for 3 nights in June. It was wonderful. We stayed in a studio which was plenty of room for my 2 sons, 6 and 8 and my husband and myself. A 1 bedroom would be better though for the full kitchen and dining room because unless you are totally mindless of money on vacation you will want to cook some meals or go out to eat. The restaurant on property was extremely overpriced. But the lazy river was amazing. We floated for hours 1 day. The resort is definitely a vacation in itself!

Traveler's tip on dining

The restaurant is overpriced-$11.50 for a burger that everyone described as mediocre. $7.50 for a frozen NON-ALCOHOLIC drink by the pool, $10 if you want alcohol. SO stock your kitchen or go out to eat!

Great for Families

Great hotel/resort. Would definitely go back. There is enough to do there we really didn’t need to go anywhere for entertainment (although we actually did go to SeaWorld which is close.) The food is a little pricey but there are other options since the rooms have kitchens or kitchenettes. We even had one of our dinners out by one of the firepits. My kids (boys, 7 & 9) had a blast.

nice place

This is a nice place to get away from everything.. Rooms have plenty of space to not make you fell cramped for space. Be prepared to walk long distance to get to all the area’s.. Only negtive things are that the pool area’s can get really crowded, and someone else ran up a bar tab on my room that took some time to get cleared off at check-out...

Great place to unwind for the entire family!

We have a toddler and were looking for a place to stay close to Sea World/Six Flags...we hit the jackpot! We had so much fun at the resort that we decided to stay at the pool one day instead of our planned trip to Sea World. Make sure you check with the Camp to find out the activities that are going on during your stay. During our stay we took advantage of the pony rides one afternoon, then the following afternoon they had an animal show provided by Sea World, and one evening they showed a movie (Kung Fu Panda)on a huge screen while you relaxed on the beach. The pool was amazing since it was only 3ft 10 inches at its deepest point and the lazy river was also fun. The slides are fun too but the height requirement is 48" just so you know. We rented a one bedroom condo and it was nice and clean. We will certainly go back to enjoy this great family resort.

Traveler's tip on dining

We didnt eat at the restaurant due to the reviews and the price. We opted to go to HEB and pick up some groceries so we could eat in our condo. We did eat out one night at a famous mexican restaurant in downtown right outside of market square and it was delicious. You will save alot of money by buying groceries and it makes it easier to run to the condo eat and then return to the pool or river.

Lots to do

There are plenty of activities for the whole family. Nice lazy river and media center. The gym is very functional and the pool is great. Lots of hot tubs, fun place to stay if you like the water.

Great place to stay w/kids!

The hotel is very kid friendly. Our 3 & 5 yr old loved the swimming pool(s) and the lazy river. The hotel staff were all extremely respectful and friendly. The only complaint would have been the onsite restaurant. It was expensive and the food was not very good at all.

Traveler's tip on dining

I would suggest eating elsewhere or bringing your own food.

Very impressed

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in a 2 bedroom apartment room which was spacious, clean and modern. My only slight criticism of the room was the air conditioning system in the hallway was a bit noisy. The pool complex and the lazy river are superb and make this a fanstastic vacation spot for families with kids. I was impressed with the lanscaping around the hotel grounds which was really pretty, especially the abundance of jasmine which smelt fabulous.

Though great for families I think it would also make a lovely romantic getaway.

Perfect for the family!!

It is one of the best vacation center I have ever been. . . . . and not so expensive. My sons had a great time and they are waiting to go back in the near future. Definitely a place to stay in San Antonio.

Excellent choice for families

After a hot and tiring day, this Hotel was like an Oasis. The rooms and amenities are superb. We were only staying one night but I reckon a week would have been a fabulous break. My daughter loved all the swimming facilities. We had a 2 bed suite and it was less expensive than taking 2 rooms downtown. Felt more like a luxury home than a hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Can we move there?!

The entire weekend, we couldn’t wait to get back in the pool, try new things, enjoy a margarita, or sit in the sauna. I remarked on several occasions..."hmmmm...wonder what it would be like to LIVE here?"

Traveler's tip on dining

Much of the property is set up as a timeshare, so rooms are equipped with small refrigerators and microwaves, as well as "bar-sized" sinks. This makes it easy to keep snacks in your room. Stop at HEB before checking in. The on-site restaurant is good, but the menu (mostly tex-mex) is limited. It was great!

Fabulous Family Friendly Hotel

Wild Oak ranch is wonderful place to stay for families. We have a 4 year old and an 18 month old. They loved the pools and even floating on the rattlesnake river. We stayed in a one bedroom room - it had a nice kitchen and bathroom. The only negative about the hotel is the dining options- the food is HORRIBLE and $$$$. Before checking in go to HEB and get food you need for kids as it is not worth to eat at the restaurant. We picked up Rudy’s BBQ one night and it was delicious!! Again, only suggestion is that they need to improve food quality.

* No shuttle to Seawold- ($15.00 to park at Seaworld) * Restaurant food is below average * Stop at local HEB prior to stay * Rudy’s BBQ is a great and pick up to have later in your room * Hotel has a day camp for kids that are potty trained in the summer
