Great Lisbon Hotel
The Real Palacio was first class in every sense. The atmosphere was charming, the service was outstanding, and the breakfast was excellent. Wed definitely stay again. It is important to note that this hotel is not in the old section of Lisbon, so there is either a 15-minute walk or a short metro ride to get to where the action is. However, this is a small price to pay for the great service and the quiet location of the hotel.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
When in Lisbon, take the short train ride out to Sintra and spend the day in this beautiful small town. There are two palaces and a Moorish fortress, and tons of restaurants and shops.

Sublime Luxury
Amidst the arbored boulevards and old, charming buildings, this hotel has a great ambience. Inside, is a world of sublime luxury: fabulous decor, structural elegance with high ceilings and crown molding, marble floors that gleem, wood paneling with high patena, wonderful artwork throughout the first floor, a great patio to soak up the sun..., a terrific place to relax! I would also like to mention the great staff at the front desk; they were so helpful in directing us to the Alfama district, and in helping us with our digital camera difficulties - a most professional group. We certainly would return.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Purchase a Lisboa card at the airport. It was useful and thrifty when using local transportation and getting into museums and various attractions.

Quiet spot in busy Lisbon
The Hotel Real Palacio is a surprise gem just outside the busy hubbub of downtown Lisbon and the Libertade. The location is eminently convenient to all sites/shops and has two lovely restaurants just across the street. In addition, the hote is immaculate, food for breakfast and in the dining room just fine. All in all this is a hotel for those who prize intimacy, quiet yet proximity to locale sites.
