Great hotel
Great hotel. Suprisingly laid back and was impressed with the kindness of the staff.

Solamar
The hotel is beautiful and the staff friendly. If you’re in the mood for some fabulous food, try the restaurant in the hotel but only if you’re ok spending an arm and a leg for dinner. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, not your ordinary cookie-cutter hotel. The beds were super comfortable!! We had a fabulous time at the Solmar, my only complaint was that the word "gym" is used rather loosely. 3 treadmills and a set of weights does not a gym make, but over all it was a great place to stay for a few days.

Hotel Solamar is a Lovely Boutique Hotel in Downtown San Diego
Kimpton knows how to design a hotel. The Solamar is the 3rd I’ve stayed in. Very nice accomodations and lovely staff. Too bad my business kept me out too late to enjoy the complimentary wine reception in the lobby
