Good for the price. Easy transportation to main locations. One thing that I did not like, there were a lot of crowd.

A pleasant Surprise
When we decided to go to San Diego, we had no idea as to what to expect. We tried to select a hotel that was centrally located. We were within walking distance of so many things especially the USS Midway and Museum area. You are close to the trolly station, Amtrack and bus station. The visitors bureau is several blocks away from the Holiday Inn and they are very helpful. Everything was so convenient that we decided not to rent a car but took the public transportation which was great. The hotel had an airport shuttle that picked us up and returned us at the end of our trip. As we wadered around town, we realized that the Holiday Inn was probably the best location in town. We would absolutely stay there again and would recommend it to others.
Public transportation was accessible and affordable. There is a lot to see and most things are affordable.

great location for touring
This hotel is great if you are interested in such attractions as harbor excursions, Midway museum, Maritime Museum and Seaport village. The ferry to Coronado and the Sante Fe Depot for the trolley are also near by. We rented a car and found it useful for getting to the Wild Animal Park and exploring the Cabrillo National Monument and La Jolla. We also used the car for the zoo and Balboa Park so we would have more flexibility. The hotel has parking for a daily charge - we thought it was worth it so we could have access to more places. We like to walk - we were able to walk from hotel to Gaslamp district and Horton Plaza comfortably. The restaurant in the hotel is fine but can get crowded.
