5 star hotel

I had just previously stayed at a marriott in hawaii a couple of weeks before staying here and it was as if I was staying at another marriott or another 4 or 5 star hotel. the neighborhood isn’t much, but once you walk in the hotel it was new, clean and nicely decorated. The beds were so comfy, a bit on the firm side but I liked it that way. They had two different types of pillows, soft and firm, which are also labeled. the room was spotless and i am one of those people who check the bed as soon as i get in to make sure there is not a speck of dirt or hair and there wasn’t. the bathroom was also very nice and clean. the only thing i would complain if any is the toilet paper holder need to be replaced but that’s very minimal. We also stayed in a king bed room and the shower was very small, no tub. I don’t know how the other rooms are, but I don’t like taking baths in hotels anyway. We chose this over staying in manhattan because I didn’t want to pay the hefty price and stay at a mediocre place. So if you don’t mind the location, then this is the hotel for you! The hotel definitely makes up for the location. Overall a great hotel! 5 stars!!!

If you are traveling to manhattan, there are plenty of options on getting into and out of the city. First, the next door hotel, Days Inn, has a shuttle that picks up passengers from 3 nearby hotels including Holiday Inn Express. It is literally next door. We walked over there one time when we missed the shuttle. The last stop is Days Inn where they ask you to pay for the ride $6/ea. The only thing that sucked about this is the waiting period. Depending on how many people there are, it could take 10-20 minutes just waiting there to sort things out. The schedule for pick up from the hotel is 8am, 9am, 10:15am, 11:15am and it drops you off at 7th Ave and 41St, near Times Sq across from Red Lobster. If you catch the 9am shuttle expect to get to the city around 10 depending on traffic also. The pick up time from Times sq is 8pm, 9pm, 10pm. We never used the shuttle on the way back. We instead used the NJ bus at Port Authority Bus Terminal at Gate 51. It is only $2.50/ea and it leaves whenever it gets full and there’s always one waiting. You will have to walk a bit as it drops you off near Toys R Us, equivalent to about 5 blocks. It is downhill so we used this to get back every night. I believe the last bus is at 1am. Make sure to ask around if you’re not sure. Everyone was really friendly and helpful.

Exceeded my expectation. All staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and modern. Bed is ultra comfortable. Very near to Manhattan. Shuttle service to times square is very convenient. Would definetly come back. Good place to rest after a tiring day in the city. Suggestion: Shuttle service last trip going back to North Bergen should be atleast 12:00 a.m.
