Location was convenient, clerks were efficient. This hotel has a policy of charging their clients a fee of $100 if they see evidence of smoking in a non-smoking room. We booked a non-smoking room, but it smelled like old smoke. I had to bring this to the attention of the front desk, so they didn’t charge us. Other than that, the room was OK.

Rest in Rockford
We reserved two rooms and paid in advance to get the best price, a first for us. A pleasant suprise at our late check-in when everything went smoothly. Everything functioned as it should in our king suite with fridge and microwave. Oh, don’t forget to make sure the safe charge is removed if you don’t use the safe, an old Choice hotels trick. FYI, the window AC/heater unit has fan with no heat or cool if you need a white noise source for sleeping. Small gripes - the hot tub was empty and no newspapers on Saturdays.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Midway Village is a living history of the 1880’s and only cost $5. Our personal hour and a half guided tour was superb covering everything from the general store to the fire station. Don’t forget the international doll house exhibit with a cat or mouse to find in every display!
