Novotel Berlin Tiergarten

Would definitely recommend

Room standard was very good and the property was in excellent condition. Location is extremely convenient for entering the S-bahn network and for a nice walk in the Tiergarten park. All in all we were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel.

Good, but peculiar

This hotel served us well for our visit to Berlin. It’s location at the west end of the Tiergarten gave us ready access to walking paths and the S-bahn. The hotel itself was good, but had some peculiarities. One, the shower/sink area is in an entirely separate portion of the room from the toilet, which was a small room of its own. In addition, although breakfast was terrific, other meals were disappointing. In my opinion the chef often reached beyond his/her capilities.

Very well recommended

I have passed the weekend in Berlin with my fiancé and I would recommend this hotel to any kind of traveler. The hotel is very well located (exactly in front of the Tiergarten station - S-bahn) and it is possible to see some places in walking distance. We have stayed in a very quiet room, with the view for inside the building. Well decorated and good size, even if you stay more than a weekend. The breakfast has all kind of cheese, cold meats, yoghurt, fruits, breads. It is really good and on Sundays it is served until 1 p.m. We asked for the late check-out (5 p.m.) and it was not a problem at all.

Right for location

Few meter from the metro. Clean but with very expensive breakfast and minibar.

Would return

Stayed in a superior room, which worked well for 2 adults, 2 kids. Good location, very good service, and great breakfast (expensive but accompanying kids eat free). Bummer: At checkout we were told that the minibar is free with a superior room. Would be better if they said that at checkin! Would definitely stay there again.

Take the kids to a playground within walking distance from the hotel, in Tiergarten close to Siegessäule. One hour of swinging, climbing and running will make them happy and ready for sightseeing and museums.

In my opinion

Parking- you can park on the street or pay 13 to 20 euros a night for their parking garage. Customer Service- they spoke English well and kept things very simple. Two adults and two kids- for the amount paid it was not enough space after placing an extra bed, crib and luggage, space became very limited. Overall - I would not recommend it to a family but more so to a couple. It was a very luxurious type of hotel that kind of made me feel as though if my kids broke anything it would have been a very expensive trip! Even though they had a play area for kids it was across from a bar in a very open area next to the elevators, a separate room would have been nice and F.Y.I. you do have to pay for wireless internet price ranges from 10 euros and up.

A very nice hotel, but when my USA flight was cancelled and I went back for another night the cost went up about 75%.

Very nice hotel

This is a very nice hotel with good location - across from the metro station and close to many attractions, victory column, Berlin gate, zoo, Ku Damm, etc. Family friendly, has a kid room with game station and toys. I would recommend it if you stay in Berlin.

Family friendly, has a kid room with game station and toys. My kids enjoyed the horse ride near the Berlin gate, inexpensive and good experience.

Excellent hotel

The hotel was great, well located - in front of the metro station, great rooms, free internet, kindly staff. As in almost all hotels in Europe you can leave the lugagge after checking out.

Check Point Charly is a must, as weel as Berlin Dome and unter linden strazze.

Excellent Hotel

We stayed at the Novotel Berlin Tiergarten for 2 nights. We traveled with our 2 small kids and this hotel was the perfect choice because they don’t pay extra our room included a sofa bed (something very hard to come-by in Berlin). The hotel’s location is great, very close to Berlin’s main attractions and right across from the S-Bahn. The room we stayed at was small but very well laid-out and included a safe, mini-bar, TV, high-speed Internet (for a fee), new furniture, and other items commonly found in hotel rooms.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you like walking, you can start from the hotel and go through Tiergarten to reach the Victory Column, Reichstag, and Brandeburg Gate and other attactions along the way.

Right next to the S-bahn Tiergarten station, Very clean, Bed linens white and crisp, chance to go to the fleamarket on the weekend right in front of the hotel, I will definitely go back to this hotel

Novotel Tiergarten is a great location for the money!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while on a Euro stop in Berlin. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The Metro stop is just across the street and it was a 15 minute walk to the Ku’damm - an very popular area for shopping, restaraunts and bars. Many other of the Berlin sights are quite close to the hotel. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Good choice in Berlin

Convenient location, right next to Tiergarten S-Bahn station. Breakfast too expensive. Telephone system needs fixing -- have to keep trying to get to the reception from a room, most of the time the call just goes into limbo. Otherwise nice hotel.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If there are 3 or more people, buy a Group ( Partner) travel card. It is about 15 euros, allows up to 5 people to travel all day unlimited on all buses, trams, subways (U-Bahn) and the trains (S-Bahn). Better than the all day travel card, which is 5.80 euros per person. You can buy it right at the hotel reception. For food, not much choice near the hotel, but just to go to Zoo Garden, or a little further to Savigny Platz and there are many choices.
