Horrible
We had a booking for this hotel for 2 nights. I was travelling with my parents to Vienna from Salzburg. The check in time that expedia told me was noon. I reached there at 12.30 and there was no one at the property. This hotel is located in between of nowhere. There was a note lying on the door in my name to call the owner of the property. I did not have a cell phone connection in that area. Thus had to go to a persons house (5kms away) to call. The owner told me that he is 150kms away and I will have to open the property by myself and check in. This was the most horrible experience in my life. I told that I was cancelling it and he told I will still have to pay the first night charge. I told AMEX and they took care of it. Horrible... Never go...

Better than nothing
I booked this hotel because other hotels were booked or much more due to the Euro 08 Germany-Austria match in Vienna. Had difficulty finding it even with the Navigation system in the car. Also had difficulty going to next destination with nav system from there. Older style hotel out in the woods. Was nice, but now needs work to update to justify price. Frustuck was basic but satisfactory. Only meal I had there was an awful schnitzel. Room was clean; bed was comfortable. Secure. Short on Staff, but they were nice.

Authentic Austria
My fiancee and I spent several days at the Flic Flac over the New Year’s holiday and found it to be charming and beautiful. The proprietors are a family who made us feel immediately at home, the Flic Flac seems more like a lively Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. We had a rental car which made it convenient to travel into downtown Vienna, but the management made lots of shuttles into town for those guests without cars. We were very happy with our stay here and wish you at the Flic Flac a very fulfilling 2008 ! Thanks, Jim and Iryna
