Perfect location!
This hotel is located right in the middle of Barcelona, on the corner of the Rambla and you couldnt get any more central than that. We were able to walk EVERYWHERE, including up to the Miro museum which is up the mountain. However, the rooms are small after American standards (ours apparently the smallest on the floor at 14 cubic meters) and not very modern/updated. After extensively travelling in Europe for many years, I can honestly say that the size of my room was pretty standard to most European hotels. But many American travelers may be surprised by this. On a positive note, the rooms are very clean and have everything you need. Location, hard beds (surprisingly comfortable), clean bathroom, super nice and helpful staff, AC (for which there is an on/off switch only - no regulator) and TV (which you wont even need with all the stuff to see in Barcelona). I would recommend the hotel, but keep in mind the rooms are small and that this is not a 5 star hotel. You get what you pay for, and for this price I loved it.
Traveler's tip on dining
Best tapas in town? A restaurant called "Bilbao Berria" right on the square in front of the cathedral. You havent had tapas & sangria until youve been here. Many other restaurants are very "touristy" and not very good. If you get tired of tapas 24/7, try the excellent pizza or veal dish at a restaurant called "Divinus". Unfortunately, I cant recall the location.

not impressed
The room was clean, the staff friendly, and the location near the city center was excellent. However, the advertised air conditioning was almost non-existent in our room. The air was centrally run, with no way for adjustment in individual rooms. We sweated, even at night as we tried to sleep in our stuffy room. The only cool place was the lobby and the breakfast room.
