would certainly stay there again
From arriving to departing everything ran smoothly. Our request for a twin smoking room was met, as was our request for parking. Breakfast was good, room was comfortable and well maintained and the staff were most accommodating and helpful. Altogether, a most enjoyable stay in Syracusa.
Traveler's tip on dining
Only slight negative issue would be that the majority of eating establishments within walking distance of the hotel offered mainly pizza and snack type food.There is a well stocked Spar supermarket close by for all your requirements.

Syracuse bargain
I liked: Creature comforts (reliable A/C and good shower water pressure) Helpful staff Short walking distance to O. Island (10 minutes) and to the Archaeological park (35 minutes) I didn’t like: Breakfast (go out instead - it costs less than EU 2.00 for a croissant, a cannoli and a cappuccino at any of a half dozen coffee bars within two blocks)

A find
This hotel is small with a tiny quirky elevator, but it’s a gem. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and attentive in the way that only a small-hotel staff can be. The room was very tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Located about half way between Ortigia and the antiquities site, the Mediterraneo is within easy walking distance of both. I would urge any of my friends visiting Siracusa to give this pleasant hotel a try.
