One night romantic break
We drove from Lisbon to travel around the Minho river on the border with Spain. The Pousada Viana Do Castelo sits at the top of a pine covered hill reached through a winding road. On the way up to the pousada you pass the Santa Luzia Church, which already has magnificent views of the city below. The hotel is charming, the decor is very pleasant and our room had a balcony that opened to the gardens and the city below. The dining room has the best views, but the food was so-so. Overall a great experience.
