Great Location

Just steps from the central square. All the tourist attractions are within walking distance. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are nice and clean. Would definately stay there again.

Wonderful stay!

Clean, beautifully maintained duplex room (deluxe attic loft). Spacious stately bathroom. View of ancient cathedral right outside skylight windows. Delicious and plentiful buffet breakfast. Perfect location - one block off Old Town Square but very quiet. All the staff were very helpful and spoke sufficient English for us to get by. Desk staff were fluent in English.

Kids will love the Toy Museum near Prague Castle. Many kinds of antique toys. There is a very comprehensive Barbie exhibit that little girls (and their moms) will enjoy.

Terrific hotel/location

This is a very charming boutique hotel located just off the central square (quiet but very convenient). We stayed in an attic loft room which was very spacious and offered wonderful views through the skylights. The buffet breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Unlike other hotels that offer free internet but very slow internet connections, the wired connection at the Ventana was super fast. We loved this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Nice Hotel in Perfect Location

We had a great stay at the Ventana Hotel. We booked the attic loft room - it was very large by European standards with spacious, marble bathroom. The hotel is just off of the main square in the old town, yet still quiet and peaceful. Also, the included breakfast was great. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

Prague’s Ventana Hotel Rocks

The Ventana Hotel in Prague was outstanding! Service, cleanliness, and location in Old Town was excellent. We felt very comfortable there, coming and going as we pleased, and getting a good night sleep each evening. We would stay there again!

It is highly recommended to visit Old Town in Prague when there is a festival going on - which is fairly common in the summer. It’s a great way to enjoy the local culture, music, and cuisine. Staying at the Ventana made it very convenient to come and go, especially for bathroom breaks!

Exceeded all my expectations! Loved It!

Excellent service, friendly and very helpful. Very clean hotel. It is relatively quiet; and you dont see a lot of staff around. But when we needed them, they were there and most helpful. Very important also is the location. Less than 50 metres from old town square. So we were able to walk everywhere and never once took a taxi. Yet, the hotel is very quiet and we were never disturbed by the noise from the square (and there was an out-door rock/festival of some kind going on when we were there) Almost every tour available in Prague has a meeting place/start off point at Old Town Square, so we just walked there to meet the tour buses. Frankly, given the location, quality of rooms and service, I expected to pay a lot more.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Taxis in Prague are extremely expensive, simply ripoff. Market is not functioning in this segment of the Czech economy: all taxi drivers seem to belong to one gang.

Best Hotel in Prague

Everything was perfect! The room and staff couldn’t have been nicer, and the location beats any other hotel in Prague -- we could see the square from our window -- huge double casement windows that actually opened!

A Small, Unique Hotel in the Heart of Old Prague

The hotel is a small, unique lodging in the very heart of "Old Prague". Members of the staff were very friendly and quite helpful with their suggestions in regard to restaurants,attractions, transportation etc. Our "loft room" was plain, clean and comfortable. We will stay there again when we return to Prague.

There are many, wonderful cultural events in Prague. Of special note are the opera, ballet and jazz.All are very reasonable by European standards.

Loved it...

Staying at the Ventana Hotel made our trip to Prague a little more than perfect. It’s a peaceful and friendly place with sumptuous breakfasts and helpful, attentive staff who will try and accomodate your every request. My mom, for instance, required hot water for her medication twice a day and, as we did not have a kettle in our room, the staff delivered a pot of water to us whenever we called. They even gave us the choice to upgrade to a room with an electronic kettle but when we said we didnt want to (as we had unpacked already) they arranged for room delivery. It is also very well-located and the rooms are big, beautiful and clean.

Wonderful find - with one caveat

Incredible hotel, incredible location, wonderful staff - in short everything was great EXCEPT that I had one of the loft suites on the top floor, and - even though I was there in November - the room was uncomfortably warm and nothing (including opening all the windows) helped much. That being said, I will certainly stay there again - but in a different room.

Would absolutely go there again

We booked this hotel based on previous customer feedback. It was quite a gamble since we had never been there before. All previous guests were absolutely right in their high praises of this hotel. I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone who goes there. The hotel staff was great!

The streets and sidewalks are cobblestone. Not wheelchair friendly. Also, Americans, do not wear tennis shoes. We stuck out like a sore thumb. We were within walking distance of everything.

Hidden and shining hotel.

An eye-centered hotel hidden between two ancient streets, on top of the magical and shinning famous glass shapes of objects and things . Directly facing the words of Praha ancient wiseman. The hotel is very next to everything, that it will almost suit any specific inclinations you need to live. Its calm and relaxed staff are only outsmarted by the exciting and well brewed energy that is needed in the early morning , before you set on your adventure. The magic room promise you of too much uncertainty and unpredictability that you will feel next while cruising around Praha old and sad streets. Grab an apple on your way up the room.

Just Perfect

After winding our way through the street, we arrived at the front entrance. The porter was happy to park our car for us, after taking our bags to our room. Comfortable majestic rooms in a hotel which combines old world charm with modern appointments. Being on the back side of the square next to the church, the location could not be better. The breakfast was more than satisfying, with a good selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, and beverages including champagne. The staff is friendly, attentive and all speak English. We will definitely stay in this hotel again during our next visit.

When eating or drinking on the square, do not sit at the cafe directly across from the astronomical clock. $10 for a cup of coffee, $20 for a beer. Walk one cafe in either direction and the prices are 1/4 or less.

Very positive experience

Been to Prague a few times staying at different hotels, and Ventana was superb. Perfect location in the old town, nicely renovated keeping the old charm, nice staff, overall very good.

Great Location

We had one of the attic loft rooms on the top floor (4th), and it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel staff tried hard to make our stay a pleasant one, and there were only a few glitches. For instance, the hotel had promised a non-smoking room, but only the 3rd floor has non-smoking rooms. They were apologetic and gave us a nice gift. The room did not smell smoky; if it had, we would have been allowed to move to another room. Our loft room really had no view of the city, as had been advertised, but it was still a very quiet and nice room....not a 5-star hotel, but close to 4 stars. The elevator was great, but it broke down 3 times during our 6-day stay. The breakfast was superb. The hotel location could not have been better. Overall, a very good choice.

I wish we had been informed earlier about the convenience of the metro. It is clean, safe, and inexpensive. I used cabs for two days before discovering that the metro stops within walking distance of all major hotels and tourist sites. We were warned of the high restaurant prices around the Old Town Square. While everything in Prague is more expensive because of the weak dollar, we had our most enjoyable meal on the square. The food was delicious, and the service was great.

An ideal hotel in Prague

The Ventana Hotel is right on the Old Town Square. The location cannot be better. It is a 10 minute walk to Charles Bridge and 5 minute to Municipal House (Smetana Hall) where all city tours start. We have a loft room on the top floor. The sitting room, bedroom and bathroom are quite spacious and clean. Hotel staff is very helpful and courteous. Buffet breakfast,in the Library Room, is very pleasant. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a gym which is important for us.

Traveler's tip on shopping

The Old Town Square, being the center of tourist activites, is full of money changers. You must be extremely careful and ask for the net amount you are getting instead of just comparing the rate they publish on the board. There can be hidden commissions and fees. The banks offer better rates.

Great location, yet quiet

When I saw that we were right on Old Town Square, I thought noise might be a problem, but the Ventana was quiet and serene. We loved it and would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Wonderful Hotel, Great Location!!!

The hotel was in a great location, just steps from the square. Very spacious (we had the loft). Very clean, wonderful bathroom. Nice breakfast. Overall a wonderful stay!!!

Wonderful Hotel!

We stayed here for 5 nights in July, 2007. It is a fabulous location and great boutique hotel. The breakfast was terrific as well as our loft suite. The staff was quite accommodating.I look forward to returning to Prague and to this hotel.
