Amazing Hotel but Too far away from the action
The Shilla in Jeju is an exquisite hotel. The services, restaurants, game room, pool, gym are all top notch. The gardens and beach are lovely for a walk. However, it, and the other hotels in the area, are in a suburban like tourist development. It’s too far to walk, and public transportation is poor, to towns or villages and Hallosan (Mt Hallo). A taxi is required to go anywhere. The Shilla is ideal for those who want to spend a weekend at a hotel but less ideal for those who want to get out and explore. Nevertheless, it is possible to hire a taxi to go to towns and Hallosan for hiking. Other hotels, however, offer better opportunities for these activities.

Excellent if a bit pricey...feel extra charges for anything in the room were excessive, but overall an excellent experience.
