Stay Elsewhere
The first room we were given had scuff marks on the walls, dirty dust ruffles and curtains, and questionable stains on the couch. There were rips on the comforter as well. The second room we were given, the cleaning lady walked into the shower with her shoes dried the floor with a towel under her shoes and cleaned the toilet and sink with the same towel after she took some sort of solution and threw it all over the shower. Then took the wet towel with her wet shoes and carried it dripping across the tile and rug with it. The couches in the lobby are stained as well.

Nice vibes for the price
Our stay at the Victor Hotel was hip and fun and the service level was high. I was often called by name. Everyone we encountered was very professional. The room, though small, was beautiful. Minor quibbles with some quality and maintenance issues -- cheap dimmer switches that didn’t work right anymore, loud screach when the toilet flushes, motion detector closet lights that didn’t operate properly, etc. Obviously they were trying to get a lot of look on a budget. Public areas are superb. Open bathroom plan was odd...only a curtain separates bath area from bedroom. Would have preferred a door. But all in all we were very happy with the choice and enjoyed being in the heart of the action of Ocean Drive. Plenty of restaurant options in walking distance meant no need to get the car from the valet.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Try to get a room facing the pool or ocean. Get one with a balcony...not that the small balcony is usable (it isn’t) but you’ll be able to slide the door open and feel more like you’re at the beach.

Style and Substance
Very hip and stylish room. We had the separate shower room and tub--very nice rain shower and tub with ample room for two. Small balcony overlooking pool and ocean view was a nice bonus. Only thing if I was to change in room was to have the tv a bit larger--it’s a flat screen but only about 20 inches max. But who is in South Beach to watch TV anyways. Fitness center small but very adequate with dumbbells up to 150lbs so u can do anything you need and don’t need to go outside hotel for serious weight workout.
Traveler's tip on dining
Try Barton G restaurant--short taxi ride from hotel but one of best in South Beach. Amazing food, cocktails and you’ll be in awe of the preparation and delivery of the food. Expensive but a must do.
