Nice place for the price

We had a very nice time at the hotel. It’s not a five star place but the atmosphere and the people are very nice and attentive. they have grills next to the pool, which worked out great for entertaining. The pool is not heated. It is a hope and a skip away from the miracle mile (great mile with expensive stores which are open till 11pm!) Centraly located and lots of bars near by. You can walk to the beach within 5mins and to the zoo within 12mins. What more can you ask for?

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Don’t stay in too much get out and enjoy the island; visit as much of the island as you can, save the hotel activities for the late nights. Have a BBQ at least one time, and hope in the hot tube if you can.

First time in Hawaii was impressed with hotel.

All of the employees there were wonderful, from housekeeping to the front desk. They were all friendly and very helpful when we had any questions about anything. When the black out occurred and we lost power on the island they were quick to respond to all of the guests questions and get us lights immediately. The bed was comfortable.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

We had a lot more spending money for other activities and shopping while were here with having the kitchenette. It was a huge benefit in savings. Our son is in the Navy and stationed in Hawaii. So visiting with him his father promised he would cook him a couple of steak dinners on the grill. He really enjoyed it!!

Good value

Booked this based on price/location and reviews. Our trip was to visit family so not looking for luxury resort. This was only a short walk to shops and beach but at a very affordable price. Mostly liked the kichenette feature to keep food/beverages and snacks handy. The staff was very helpful and the pool was an added treat. Would consider staying there again.

First Impressions

Celebrity Resorts on Waikiki was a pleasant enough place to stay for our fist time in Hawaii. It was conveniently located very close to Waikiki which made our evening strolls very nice. The room was adequate but very dated. We were unable to get a room overlooking the pool, having been told that those were reserved for time share owners. Our room overlooked the back of an apartment building. Parking was expensive, but this may be true anywhere in Hawaii. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful. I don’t know if I would stay here again, but we were happy with the price and location.

Celebrity is a great option for budget stays

We really enjoyed being close to all the shops and the beach but being off the beaten and noisy path. Very quiet and the staff there were friendly and helpful. The small dining area was perfect for having breakfast and snacks in. The room was clean and comfortable. As a lower cost option, this is a great place.

You get what you pay for

There is absolutely nothing upscale about this hotel, no elevators, no onsite parking, and very limited maid service to clean the room. However, for the price I paid I cant complain too much. The room had basically everything you might need and the kitchenette was very handy. If you dont plan on spending a whole lot of time in your room and you are on a limited budget, this may be a good option. It is right in the heart of Waikiki and public transportation is ample. Definatley take the time to go to the other side of the island to take in the real beaty of Oahu. You wont find it downtown.

PLEASANT OSASIS

Great place to stay. Not a 5 star mega resort, but better in many ways. Staff was extremly pleasant and helpful. Easy walk to the beach. Has free loaner beach chairs, umbrellas, float toys and more... Has gas grills to cooks with. Don’t worry about the limited parking, was offered parking across the street at the same rate. Would diffently stay there again.

A Wonderful Experience

I chose this hotel because of the user ratings, and I wasn’t disappointed. The staff was wonderfully helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They really live the aloha spirit. The rooms are modest, but who goes to Hawaii to sit in the hotel room? The whole facility is extremely clean and well maintained. I was also pleased with how quiet it was while being so close to the heart of Waikiki. It is a little haven of calm. I would go back anytime and encourage you to consider this little gem of a hotel for your next stay.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

We booked our Pearl Harbor tour separately from our trip and were offered an extended tour that included the Missouri and Air Museum. Pick up a flyer in the lobby and use the computer they have for guest use. It was a snap!

Missing Elevator

If you decide to stay at this hotel, be sure you get a room on the 1st floor. This hotel does not have an elevator. They put me on the 3rd floor and I had to climb 3 floors to get to my room. Additionally, parking was limited and they charged $10. per day if the parking spots were available. Since they weren’t available, I had to pay $18 a day across the street.

Great little place!

This hotel felt like home! The staff members are SO incredibly friendly and accommodating. My Husband and I had a marvelous time! We would definitely stay there again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Celebrity Resorts is in the center of Waikiki, and within walking distance of just about everything you could possibly need. Also, there is a very convenient and easy bus system for public transportation. The beach is only 2 blocks away, too!

Great for the price

Celebrity was perfect for us. Our view form your room wasn’t nice, but we didn’t spend much time in our room or sightseeing out our balcony window anyway. The hotel is only a block and a half from the beach and the major roads through Waikiki. Tour buses and airport shuttles pick you up at the hotel take you anywhere you need to go. The kitchenette was a great feature and every room has one. It comes with most of the things you need and we saved a lot of money on food that way. We used the beach/pool towels that the hotel desk provides. They are small so you might want to bring your own if you need something bigger. It’s definitely not a romantic hotel to stay at, but great for people who spend most of there time out doing things rather than sitting in their rooms most of the time.

Perfect Location

Although the hotel is a bit out-dated, the location makes up for it. The hotel is located in the middle of Waikiki; therefore it is very convenient to go to Waikiki beach and other attractions. The staff deserves a 5-star rating. If you are on a budget, the hotel is definitely your option.

Traveler's tip on dining

Look for the coupon in the travel guide and go to Shorebird for 50% off dinner. The restaurant has the atmosphere, entertainment, excellent service and delectable food.

A wonderful experience

The hotel staff was incredibly nice and helpful. They make you feel like they’ve known you for years. Tho not a 4 star hotel, it’s a very homey atmosphere offering an orientation get together on Monday’s and pancake breakfast on Thursday’s, and the Expedia concierge is most helpful in booking any activity you’re looking for. The courtyard pool area is like a lush forest boasting it’s own waterfall and hottub, with soft Hawaiian music playing in the background. Tho not on beach, it’s only a short walk away (& they supply towels), with the International Market a block away. It’s located in the heart of Waikiki Beach where all the action is. I would heartily recommend this hotel. "Best bang for your buck"

Great Place to stay!!

This is the perfect hotel! Court yard like a oasis, loved sitting on the balcony to drink morning coffee! We saved lots of money on the room, we were two blocks from the beach, walking distance to the zoo and aquarium, could have walked to diamond head if wanted to. Hotel staff very pleasant and helpful...Will stay there again if we go back!! I give this place 4 1/2 stars don’t know why it is not rated higher. It was perfect for us! Thanks to all the staff!!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

The Whale watching was kind of a bust only seen the back of a momma and baby whale. Parasailing is a must!! Snorkling is also a must!! The zoo was pretty good, the Aquarium was small not a must see. DK’s steakhouse is very good but expensive. All I can say for the other places we ate at is you get what you pay for. Pay more you will appreciate it.

Great location and can’t be beat for the price

It’s in the heart of Waikiki - half a block from the bus stop and 2 blocks from Waikiki beach - tons of restuarants, shopping, beach, toursit attractions nearby. Rooms are a little outdated, the mattress is probably not as good as yours at home, but everything is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. There was some street construction while we were there (Feb 2008), but distraction was minimal in the resort’s rooms and pool/garden area. Overall, it’s a quiet oasis in the heart of otherwise busy Waikiki. Many of the guests were elderly, some younger couples; probably not great for families with young or boisterous kids.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Take TheBus to get around, it’s easy and it goes everywhere you’d want to go. If you plan to cook, consider taking the bus to one of the grocery stores outside of Waikiki - you’ll save tons of money! Plan to be very surprised at prices in the Waikiki grocery store!

Can’t wait to go back!

The staff was just wonderful. Friendly and so helpful. The room was great. It was nice to have the kitchenette in the room. The hotel is in the middle of Waikiki and all the shopping and great beaches are within walking distance. The pool area is just beautiful with a waterfall in the background. We had a wonderful time.

Can’t wait to go back!!

We had a great experience at Celebrity Resorts Waikiki. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping staff was very accommodating to us. Keep in mind that it is a timeshare, therefore do not expect for your room to be cleaned top to bottom every day (although ours was always very clean), but if I needed something, I just left a note to the housekeeping staff and always got it. Housekeeping is a real hard work, so we always tip. Everyone (staff and guests, except for one middle-aged guest suffering from something) was very patient with kids and the pool noise they generate :) Feels like we visited a family! Location is perfect: very close to everything. Wonderful little place to stay at :)

Traveler's tip on dining

Rainbow Sushi at the Food Court at International Marketplace is the best!
