TOO FAR FROM THE MARKETPLACE
Though it was quaint, if you want to explore and walk it is for you. Not in the heart of Brugges. Though it was booked for 2, it was big enough for one; cabin was too small. The kitchen closed 10 pm and all day Wed. The front desk closed at 7 pm. Luckily for the deal or I wouldn’t have stayed there.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Brugges is a small village that is walker friendly. I was a single woman and I felt safe. Get there early because the shops are closed by 1830; food is still available in the square.

i would recommend hotel de barge. clean, convenient, and staff very accommodating.
a very nice place to stay. quiet and refreshing to be on the canal. just a short walk into brugge and just a few meters to the railway station. the staff were very helpful with directions and maps and the hotel cuisine was excellent. all in all, a very pleasant stay.

Not Luxury
This hotel is not a 3 star hotel. I’m not sure what criteria they use for giving out stars but the primary reason I stay at a hotel is a good night’s sleep and the beds at this hotel remind me of summer camp. The place wasn’t horrible but I was expecting better particularly at this price.
