Good Hotel for the price

Hotel was under construction when I was there but overall friendly staff very helpful, the room was big and had clean beds... would stay here again good hotel for the price..

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Check out the front desk... the hotel had free events such as shuttle there and back to Williamsberg and the guide on the shuttle recomended a very nice restaurant Captin Georges best seafood in town...

Disappointed

the hotel is old and dilapidated. Appliances are old. Hair dryer no in the room, you have to go downstairs to request for one. There is no continental breakfast available except for a coffee machine. Shower walls where the shower head was attached was rusty and looks like had water damage. I was afraid to move the shower head around,the whole thing might come off.

Needs some TLC

We stayed for two nights - on the way there we got a call that there was a leak and our carpet was wet in the living room area. It was Neptune Festival weekend so nothing else was available right at the beach. The manager was very sweet and gave us coupons for dinner for our trouble. That night we came back to no hot water. The maintenance replaced the hot water tank (at 10pm - i have a two year old and also a one year old with me who where ready for bed) Come morning the not water was still not working. We had to wait around for the manager to get there and she moved us to another room. The hotel is not horrible, just needs to be maintenanced and updated. The location was great it was literally right down from the boardwalk. We could see the ocean from the window on our floor. For the price it was not what we expected due to it was as much a night as the nicer hotels, but you live and learn.

Overall just an okay stay...

Location was great---very short walk to the boardwalk & beach. This hotel felt more like a college dorm where you needed to account for everything in the room from towels to forks...Also, they only took trash & replaced towels upon request. They only had double beds although they claimed different by phone. Bed was very uncomfortable & there was virtually no water pressure in the shower. Front desk staff were kind but often not at the desk. This hotel had info and pictures posted on the upgrades they are doing--I think once these are done (pillow top king mattresses, flat screen TV), this hotel will be much better!

Take full advantage of the location & use the boardwalk for runs/walks & the bike trail for rides!

Decent Hotel

This is a fairly nice hotel. There’s a fitness room and a tanning booth, make sure you remember this because by the looks of the hotel, one may think it does not have such amenities. Very close to the beach and many other attractions. The room inventory isn’t so bad and they give you more than enough time to get it done.

Tell guest up front about the services you provide & don’t provide.

I was nervous from other reviews that I saw on line. I must saw i was pleased upon arrival. I think a few coats a paint and some minor repairs in some units and it’s fine. I think you should inform guest that you don’t clean the rooms on a daily basis, requesting towels daily wasn’t bad, beacause they were there when u returned. All the comforts of home in the kitchen area was great, we actually cooked 2 days.2block 2 beach.

Lots of attractions near by, that was nice. Nightly entertainment on the strip, very nice.

Great stay

Not a bad stay. The only inconvenience was the checklist of the items in the room. Overall it was a nice stay. The kitchenette was convenient. The hotel is a short walk to the beach. Adult swim was supposed to be from 8:00-9:00 pm, but there were children there. We didn’t care, but the hotel didn’t seem to mind either.

Not as bad as some of the previous reviews say

I stayed for 2 nights. When you walk in, the pool is directly to your right, so the "pool smell" is there. I stayed on the second floor and when we got off the elevator (there’s only 1) the floors were stained. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the room though. There is a rather large living room area with a pull out sofa bed, then you walk through a kitchen area with the bathroom off to the left and get to a pretty big bedroom. My 2 year old son immediately ran to the bed and started jumping. That was the first sign on disappointment, when he started jumping I could tell the bed was not going to be comfortable. It wasn’t horrible though. The walls are thin and you can hear people in the pool. But overall, wasn’t a bad stay at all.

Very Happy

We go to Va. Beach a few times a year. I have 2 step-daughters who live there, so I am very familiar with the area. I booked this resort last minute and we hit the road. We arrived in town at 10am & the Atrium’s check-in is 4pm. I was very happy when they allowed us to go ahead and get in a room after a long night’s drive. From check-in to check-out, I was pleased. Their updated rooms were really nice!

We always make at least one trip to a pizza place called "Doughboys" as a family. For finer dining, we enjoy "Rudee’s Inlet".

Intend to go back a couple times per year!

This place was nice for the price! Large condo kinda feel with very short walk to the boardwalk and really easy automobile access. We were very comfortable there and intend to return multple times in the future.

Will Stay Again

The hotel and staff was very nice. I did not like the fact that housekeep was not available, but I survived. Also I feel ckeck-out was a little early (10 am). Overall it was a very nice place and will recommend to my friend and family.

VERY OUTDATED RESORT

THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL, BUT THE ROOMS NEED TO BE UPDATED FROM THE FLOOR UP ALSO I DID NOT LIKE THAT THERE WAS A $100.00 HOLD ON MY CREDIT CARD.

Mild Recommendation with Qualifiers

The Atrium was a lower cost choice for a weekend stay, and it was OK for the price. It’s obviously an older facility, and it’s also obvious they have gone to some effort to fix it up, so the room and lobby were nice. Location near the beach (3 blocks or so) is very good, and the room was clean. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, but the beds in timeshares rarely are. My most significant criticism is that the place is understaffed. In the middle of one afternoon, I spent 20 minutes waiting at the check-in counter to get a simple question answered while the one clerk on duty answered incoming phone calls instead of dealing with the people waiting at the counter.

Great Deal for the Money

We stayed for a weekend sporting tournament. What we like about the Atrium is the seperate sitting area and kitchenette. Our room was right near the indoor pool, a hit with my 7 year old. The interior corridors are nice and wide.

Not fancy, but comfortable and clean. I would love to see an update of the decor. They are renovating the outside, maybe they will do the inside soon.

Hotel seems to be a work in progress

Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon. We decided to walk along the boardwalk and asked the front desk to call us when the room was ready. At around 4:45 we went back and our room was ready but they’d forgotten to call us. We were informed of the need to fill out the checklist for the room.. We were told that we needed to give them a major credit card and if anything was missing from the room we’d be charged. This isn’t actually a big deal. However when we finally got to doing the checklist all of the big ticket items were missing already. No coffee maker, no dvd player, no microwave just to name a few. We informed the front desk. It turns out our room had been out of comission and items had been removed and put in other rooms. We were told that the coffee maker and microwave would be replaced that day. It never happened. I was content to go to the lobby where there was fresh coffee in the morning. Walls in the room weren’t very solid. Adjacent room had someone that coughed all night. The bed was like sleeping on concrete. Definitely not a 3 star Hotel. I was surprised to learn that Intervale is affiliated with this Atrium. It’s definitely not the calibre of our Orlando timeshare. It wouldn’t take much to make this a 4 or 5 star hoetl.

It was an easy walk to the beach from the hotel. We walked several mles a day and when we stayed in the neighborhood we never drove.

my new VA beach hotel

the hotel was under construction so the outside looked a little run down but i was very pleased with everything else. the room was very accomidating had everything you could need also very spacious. the staff was extreamely nice and very helpful. the hotel is very well located and easy to find, i will definately recomend to others and will stay there again.

Great Experience

I was traveling on business and had to check in early. The staff was most accommodating and let me in my room early. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond the entire stay. The hotel was clean and nice. They were doing a few renovations at the time but kept it out of the way. Will definately return.

Grunge

The whole place had a shabby, run-down air, from the crusty elevator carpet the the dingy windows, to the plastic garbage bags taped to the floor.

Enjoyed the Sun and Surf

Overall, our impression of the hotel and the staff was very good. Our biggest concern was that we were traveling with people with special needs and were located on several different floors and in rooms that were no where near each other. While we made do, it would have been more enjoyable had we been located in the same area. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the grounds were easily accessible to all.

my review

I had a good stay the only things that i did not like is i went through expedia and when i got there it was listed under hotel.com and then my name was not on the registration,so i had to wait until my parties arrived,also it is a good stay if you dont mind making your own bed and taken out your own trash,and going to get your own towels,but it was a good stay once we got into our rooms.

Ok place to stay

Staff was superb, but the rooms could use a little updating and although marked as a non-smoking room, my room reeked of cigarettes.
