too expensive for what you get
The pluses of this hotel are location, location, location. Small rooms, not too comfortable beds, poor-quality toiletries and tiny bathroom made this hotel worth way less than what we paid. Staff was friendly, breakfast not bad and location was convenient.

Our stay at Jerusalem Gold Hotel
Our stay at Jerusalem Gold Hotel was wonderful, specially the staff was very polite and helpful. Thanks for your service, thanks for learning other languages such as English, Spanish, by knowing other languages you are able to help the tourists who visit Jerusalem. The food was very delicious, specially the breakfast, I thought I was going to have to eat only pitas and humus was that was not the case. We had such a great time.

CLEAN BUT NOT COMFORTABLE
Hotel is located adjacent to the Central Bus Station - about an $8 (30 NIS) taxi ride from the Old City. The hotel has elevator service, free breakfast included in price, and wireless Internet (at an extra fee). The rooms and the hotel is clean. The hotel is not very comfortable - relative to the expectations of a business traveler in the United States. The rooms and bathrooms are extremely small and there are very limited amenities in the rooms (adequate towels, adequate lighting, hair dryer, variable electrical outlet for 220 and 110 v, room to place luggage and move around). The breakfast buffet is adequate but the basement location is depressing as were the scrambled eggs (they tasted as if they were powdered eggs) and the coffee (which tasted as if it were instant coffee). Hotel does not deserve a 3 star Expedia rating. It is adequate for youth travel but this is definitely not a hotel for adults accustomed to U.S. level business hotels and the price was much too high relative to the value received.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Taxi drivers prefer a fixed price fare off the meter. Negotiate the price ahead of time.
Comment from the hotel's management
Posted: 20-Oct-08The hotel is located adjacent to the Central Bus station, one of the prime transportation hubs in Jerusalem. Travelers familiar with accommodations in Europe and Asia are very satisfied with the spaciousness of the rooms. The breakfast buffet is prepared fresh daily and guests can enjoy a day of business or touring after enjoying an ample assortment of eggs, pancakes, French toast (prepared with fresh bread), cereals, cheeses, salads, pastries, and fruits.
