Helpful staff

My wife and kids became ill during our stay (nothing to do with the hotel). The hotel staff could not do enough to be helpful and accomodating to us. We really appreciated that.

Best Breakfast

Nice hotel, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was fantastic. However, the property is poorly maintained, the rooms was unclean (i.e. dirty windows, foul smelling room, and hair on the floor in the bathroom). Our stay wasn’t ruined, but we merely slept there while spending the rest of our days elsewhere.

Clean and Comfortable

My wife and I enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. It was clean, maintained well and quiet. the restuarant was good, but only serves dinner three nights a week and continental breakfast in the lobby.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Nearby boardwalk in Everglades was a great walk.

good stop on the way to naples

We checked in late after passing the hotel. It was almost a ghost town. The room was well appointed and spacious but would have preferred to stay in the hotel we booked in Naples, but can’t complain.

can’t wait to go back

We were there in the spring and were very satisfied with the the whole trip, everthing was perfect for two seniors who like to take it easy on vacation. We plan to go back in July because we couldn’t wait until winter.

Traveler's tip on dining

We went to lunch in E.C. to the hunters lodge and it was good food and interesting lodge history.

Not for Everyone

We stayed here the week before Xmas, and had the place entirely to ourselves. Even the hotel staff left at 5 PM for the night, and we were the only people in the place! There is no room service, and the restaurant is open only Thurs-Sun. The nearest place to eat is 15 miles away, but the hotel did have a cont. bkfst. But the grounds and facilities are fantastic! The rooms were all redone (paint, furniture, etc) in Jan 07, and I don’t think ours had been stayed in since. The pool is beautiful, altho we never used it. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. If you have a boat, bring it! No golf we saw, but easy access to the Everglades. If you have to be waited on, go somewhere else. But if you can get by with a minimum of service and enjoy solitude, this is the place.

Traveler's tip on dining

Eat at Triad’s in Everglades City, or go to Marco Island. The Depot in E.C. was poor.

very convenient, to Everglades, nice setting.

The facility was very nice, continental breakfast above average, staff accomadating. We were surprised to be in a "cottage", it was comfortable, not much of a view. Restaurant was closed Mondays, referal to another which was good. Pool area beautiful, areas for larger groups, and different types of parties.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Wooten’s Air Boat Ride was fun, and staff very accomadating.

Pleasant Surprise

This recently renovated hotel a few minutes south of Marco Island and just inside Everglades Natl Park off of US41 - is in a terrific location. The condo like atmosphere with well landscaped gardens, pool, and canal waterfronts offers a tremendous value. Clean, comfortable, and quiet.

Wonderful

We knew there was no maid service, unless requested, so this did not matter to us. The staff was very pleasant, the hotel restaurant was very good and reasonable. We went to enjoy our boat and there was a Marina next door. We felt we were in the middle of the Everglades with great amenities. Fishing was great fun. We even played Tennis.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

See nature at its best. Manatees, blue heron, bald eagles, and many alligators

Can’t wait to go back

This hotel has the best pool of any hotel I’ve been to! The pool is big and like bath water. I had a great time at this quiet, relaxing hotel.

Past its prime

We found this place from a 2006 (1 yr old) guide book that called it a "Full Service Resort" in the "Ultra Deluxe" category. In reality it was like a standard 2 star motel. No restaurant (there was an old one there that looks like it hasn’t opened in years). The spa was a "mobile" spa and the schedule was listed at the front desk. Rooms were clean with DVD player (a big plus), fridge, microwave. Beds were comfortable. Deck is shared with ALL other rooms (its a veranda that wraps around...people walking right by your room door). Front desk was neither rude nor helpful. All rooms on 2nd floor.

Everglades Escape

We were pleasantly surprised with the condition of this hotel. It was a quiet, well kept secret to relax and enjoy all the everglades has to offer.

Traveler's tip on dining

Make sure to go to the Cuban restaurant located in Chokoloskee next to the post office. Good food in a remote area.
