Okay place for the price
The front desk people were very nice, spoke some English, and helpful with suggestions on how to get around Paris. They gave us a handy map and circled the nearest underground stations, attractions and how to get back to the hotel. The hotel was one step up from a youth hostle which was what we expected for the price point in that area. The room was tiny but the en-suite was actually pretty spacious compared to other comprable hotels (actually had some elbow room in the shower). Dont expect to jump right into a hot shower though, as the water took a good 5-10 minutes to heat up. The bed was a bit nasty so I slept on top of two sheets which were clean. We did appreciate the free wi-fi internet service as we had our laptop. The location was great as it was only a 5 minute walk to the underground station and close to small grocery stores and bakeries for breakfast. You can hear the live music at the bar down the block which is fine if you dont go to bed early.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If you stay here, request a room on the 5th floor where you can step outside the window onto the rooftop balcony...nothing fancy, but who cares if youre looking over Paris!

Good value for the price, but certainly needs a face-lift.
This hotel is well located, in the center of Paris, near a major metro connection hub. However, the place needs a serious face-lift--more than just another coat of paint. Old moldings in the hallways are not enough to confer a hotel its "cachet". The rooms are quite small, and a redesign to use the small space at its best would be necessary. Also, a card in the rooms explaining how to contact the desk with the phone, giving the opening hours of the breakfast room (which double as storage room for baggage in the morning...), and other useful information wouldnt be a luxury. This being said, my stay was relatively pleasant, all things considered.
Traveler's tip on dining
If you like French cuisine, there are two excellent old Parisian brasseries at walking distance: Flo and Julien.
