Pretty Good

Hotel staff was very helpful, Metro was close by about 5 minute walk to Omonia station and square, good access to everywhere on the Metro (10-15 min to Acropolis and Plekea area for eats). Not many eateries in the area. Breakfeast and dinner at hotel very expensive, found an outdoor Greek cafe up the street for breakfeast coffee and rolls. Inexpensive and pretty good. Sandwiches available also. Once you walk through the druggie area, it’s about 1/2 block and they don’t seem to bother you and it’s only in the late eve (8-11 PM). Hotel was clean and quite. Down the street (about 3-4 blocks) was the archalogical museum. Quite impressive (is a must see). Price was right and stay there againif I were to go back to Athens.

Mid October is good time to go, weather is pleasant. Tip from airport ~ 50 Euros, arrange and pay thru hotel and have cab meet you at airport or you can take the Metro (a lot less expensive) to the center of Athens and cab it from there (depending on time you arrive and how tired you are).

AWESOME! Experience

The Hotel was excellent, the staff pretty knowledgable (about metro, directions on foot, etc.) The breakfast however was too expensive for what they offered. Stop at a local cafe in the morning instead. You have to check out lycabettus Hill, and the resteraunt located on the hill (the view is priceless, and the food was great! You have to try the Moussaka)

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you are traveling in the summer months, drink plenty of water, wear comfortable shoes

Great hotel and location

Quite frankly I was surprised with the quality and location of this hotel. Both were excellent. We could walk easily to all of the main attractions in Athens from this great location. The subway is only one block away and we used it often. It is cheap, very clean and user friendly. I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to be visiting Athens

We enjoyed our stay

Good location and it was what we expected. The pool was small and the service limited

Possibly the best hotel room in Athens Centre

Perfect hotel with superb rooms. Stayed there before will definately stay there again. Only downside was the fact htat for some reason they did not change the sheet for 2 days eventhough they were obviously dirty from having wine spilled on them.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Avoid walking the nearby streets. Not the best neighborhood in Athens

Pretty good

Good, except they failed to give me two twins and gave me one queen, and when I asked for them to change it they said it was impossible and I would have to switch rooms, very, very annoying. I still give it a high rating because everything else was so good, though the pool was closed unfortunately (not warm enough yet).

No

The hotel experience was good overall, however there is no air conditioning in the hotel. The room was so hot I wasn’t able to sleep all night. The window opens, but it didn’t help at all. There was no wifi connection in the room. At the front desk we upgraded to the suite on the top floor, come to find out the view was to the top of the building next door. The hotel is ok, but I would choose another one next time.

Not too shabby!

A pretty nice hotel in the "center" of Athens. The hotel staff was amazing and super helpful. The room was nice, a little small but we didn’t spend much time there with all of the things we were out doing. There is a great view of the whole city from the roof to include the Acropolis. We only had one issue with the room that hotel maintenance was quick to fix so it was not too much of a problem. The hotel is close to a metro station (about 3 blocks) which is pretty convenient to get anywhere you need to go in the city!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you go to the Acropolis and purchase a 12 euro a person ticket to the Acropolis is also comes with tickets to other things in the area like Olympian Zues’ monument, The Ancient Agora, etc... that was 12 euro well spent.

Melia Athens, Great Customer Service

The Customer service at this hotel was above and beyond our expectations. The front desk staff not only offered service with a smile, but were extremely helpful in suggesting a place to eat Greek food. This turned out to be the best food we ate during our 10 day stay. Housekeeping did a wonderful job of keeping the room clean and smelling fresh. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler. The only drawback is that parking in the city of Athens.

Terrible location. Unattentive service. Bathroom not thoroughly cleaned for the entire six-nights

I would not recommend this hotel. Service personnel were very unattentive. The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned for the entire six-night stay. The room was very hot with no way to adjust the termostat. The hotel website images are impressive but in actuallity, the hotel is not a good place to stay and its surroundings are very depressing and not well-kept. I recommmend staying at a hotel close to the ruins or museums.

Traveler's tip

Stay at a hotel close to the ruins not in the center city area.

Beautiful hotel in a great location

Residence Georgio, although by Omonia Square, was a very well appointed hotel with a friendly and attentive staff. The front desk crew were very helpful with restaurant reservations, car rentals, and other helpful advice. The rooms were spacious (for Athens) and the beds were unexpectedly VERY comfortable.

Beautiful and very flexible for our needs,

Foods goods, the room with the jacuzzi and the services from that hotel very nice. We arrived late at night and left early in the morning, so I can’t say anything really about the location and/or other things on the hotel, the other other was booked and we needed a room for the last night. However more far to the airport that we thought...
