Decent hotel
The hotel was nice, especially the dining and entry. The park around the hotel was nice as well. The service was excellent. The room was a disappointment because the furniture was sparse and the wood was damaged and it was overall clean but not in very good condition. That’s what you get for the "basic" room I guess. The breakfast was outstanding, the best I’ve ever had at a hotel.
Traveler's tip
Right off of the autobahn. A RATIO store (like a high-quality Super WalMart) is nearby. It’s about 5 minutes from downtown Trier. The nearby Burger King has NASTY blizzards!

Beautiful park location
This hotel sits adjacent to a large park. This creates beautiful views from many of the rooms as well as from the restaurant (outside eating on the deck is also available). The rooms are nice sized and very clean. The staff were very nice. The breakfast consisted of a large buffet; something of a blend between the typical European breakfast with croissants, wholegrain cereal, etc. and an American style with eggs and bacon.

Great spa area
Nells hotel has its own spa retreat. So if you stay there, you have to get the couple’s bath. The sauna is amazing too. If you get a standard room, the furniture is fairly old and beat up, but the spa retreat and restaurant make up for it.
